I got snowed in at Wintergreen, VA. Parts of the parking lot had drifts 5'+ deep and a snowplow ripped into the side of a buried Jaguar thought to be just a pile of snow.
Those photos look like a normal Winter in the Town of Mammoth Lakes in the High Sierra of California.
Man oh man that Global Warming is a real beeyotch ain’t it?
“I take my leaf bags and tuck them around the foundation, then when it snows I pile it on top of them. Hey, every little bit helps, and its free.”
I understand what you mean as I used to put bails of hay around our house which worked great until someone told me that if there was a house fire then the insurance company would have an out (and not pay) because I had flammables near the house, it could be a reason they would not pay.. Now I am cold but insured LOL. actually I now (and yes it sounds gross) use cider blocks around the house. Wind can not get in!
I tuck mine behind the shrubs (a: to keep the house from looking crappy and b: for the reason you state). I do have some extra block and brick around, so that’s a good idea you gave me - next year I’ll stack some on the windy side.
Am I supposed to be impressed ?
I’m from Buffalo,NY
My Dad used to say snow was invented in Syracuse. He was appalled by what constituted a ‘snow emergency’ when I was growing up in Connecticut. He told me he ‘understood’ when I moved to SoCal. You folks are better people than me ;)
Kolyma, Kolyma.
Amazing Planet.
12 months of winter
the rest is summer.
Maybe he left his apartment keys in the car.
My guess would be so that it doesn't get covered later with a snow plow in addition to the snow.
Why its Wobal Glarming!
Why would you bother digging your car out, it’s not going anywhere.

LOL. First real blizzard I recall was in Fayetteville outside Syracuse Jan ‘66 — over 6 feet in a day and a half. Most snow I ever saw — until I began going to the Sierras on ski trips.
I went to the Sierras once, in the summer time. I was astounded at how high from the ground some of the street signs were !

Or had a dentist appointment. lol
