Fox News Watch host Jon Scott on Saturday asked his guests why President Obama typically ignores Fox News at his rare press conferences.
Kirsten Powers smartly answered, "Because he doesn't want to be embarrassed" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

JON SCOTT, HOST: Eric Ostermeier - to go to your point, Judy - at the University of Minnesota put together a piece called “Fox Still Shunned at Obama Press Conferences.” “A smart politics analysis,” he writes, “finds that ABC reporters have been called on the most frequently during Barack Obama’s solo news conferences followed by CBS, the Associated Press, and NBC with Fox News coming in at a distant ninth in less than half of the rate of the top outlets, less than 40 percent of the press conferences overall.” Why does the president not like to call on us?KIRSTEN POWERS: Because he doesn't want to be embarrassed, really. Because when he's asked a question, the same way, you know, when Ed Henry asks questions in the, to Jay Carney, inevitably Jay Carney ends up looking stupid because he doesn't know how to answer the question. He’s used to pushing people around, and you know, it will be tenacious, he’ll get asked about something he doesn't want to get asked about, and he wants softballs.
Indeed.
Why call on Fox when the representatives there from virtually every other so-called news organization are on his team and wouldn't dare do anything that might challenge him?

Indeed and 'in truth' a Liberal from PBS. She just happens to be a rare breed of Lib. Smart and 'Reason Capable' and fair enough to keep a somewhat 'open mind'; and so is willing to acknowledge 'good' in opposing views. She must drive her 'peers' crazy.
Funny; that she is much more reasonable than say. . .Juan Williams; who since his disaster per PBS; and his subsequent 'upgrade' at Fox, because of it; seems to have taken a huge 'back slide' per his 'reason' capabilities.
But then; we know from watching. . .this is not an uncommon MO to behold.
Greta too; came from the Liberal mold; but she is simply,smart; and with that; Greta is the consumate professional - fair-minded - interviewer. She has; and shares, her 'moral lights'; whereas; few Libs even try to claim a 'moral ground'; because in fact; they cannot.
Think Greta is less the 'Lib' than when she arrived; which speaks to her intelligence; IMHO. Kristen, not on par here; but not soooo far, behind Greta.
The Obama administration, together with terrorist frontgroup C.A.I.R., are the biggest enemies of free speech in the U.S. Let’s hope more of the American public wake up as soon as possible to the take-over of the country by Islamofascists.
With due respect, I think it’s deeper than that. I think it speaks to legitimately being out of touch after living in the bubble too long.

To bigger picture; GW was well aware that he was President; not just 'of and for' Republicans; but that he 'repped' the 'other Party' - and all Americans - as well. He was not divisive; though the Libs claimed him so; and he was never 'arrogant' by the power he assumed on America's behalf. Rather; in the Authentic; GW - like his Father and family - was of 'humble mind'. He was acutely aware, that Presidential Power was not defined in the 'personal'; nor so assigned.
Obama; the total; antithesis; per his mega-narcissism; his need and 'will-to-power'; defining his 'totalitarian' inclinations. Obama believes the 'power of the Presidency' is his personal power to claim and wield.
GW - per his decent character - had no such illusions. Huge difference in MO's here; particularly when it comes to motivations for seeking power and imagining 'absolute power'.
There IS something; of course; to say for NOT electing those who have never had wealth and power; for they are less likely to be drawn to it; for the wrong reasons; or 'use it'; for the wrong reasons.
Best to look for the 'authentic' whatever the case. Of course; we have a generation of voters; who have grown up; saturated in the Liberal MO - entertained by the 'Jerry Springer Model'; and of course; the 'ugly as well' per Reality-not TV; and so; how do they know; recognize; appreciate. ..those who are authentic in their values and motivations?
Given results of Election; it would seem; beyond the OWS MO/entitled 'class' and/or mindset; there are too many, cannot make the otherwise; critical distinctions.
I wish the sound guys would turn Jaunny Laddy down..I can’t stand it when he barges in on the other person’s turn to speak or out shouts them. Hannity and BOR both could do better on that one...Juanny is either blinded by his liberal Marxist ideas or is just plain stupid.
ps..I agree about Greta. I had doubts when she first came aboard but she is fair in her questions of all her guests and she does have a moral backbone...she stands for something and calls her democrat colleagues out when she thinks they are wrong. She is professional in all respects.
She must have been one heck of a challenge to an opponent in the court room!

Yup. She was on Fox about a week ago discussing firearms and questioned why a hunter would need an AR-15 = she is 2A-challenged.
I wonder how someone could be so stupid as to date Weiner then turn around and give a smart, honest answer. It probably just slipped out. She’ll be apologizing before too long and say she didn’t really mean it.
