Nothing like winter to catch your attention.

I have long hair. It has to be washed once a week, minimum. When I was doing the mountain man thing, with temps below zero, heating water so I could stand outside on a pallet to wash my hair was a fairly quick exersize.

Rough life sucks. I like my convienences. I think I'll keep them.

Sometimes, any exposed skin will freeze within seconds here. I've watched water freeze on the ground within a few seconds during some of the calmer nights. It crackles. I've seen 80+ mph winds spraying ice at around minus 10-20 degrees, F., 100+ mph winds at around 0.

This year, nearly no snow all winter. It's been dry as a bone for a long time. Through April (see map), and likely next summer (IMO), have fun. Enjoy the slide. I'll be preparing to cover my eyes and face for the sandstorms and holding off on getting yaks until the next year.
