A man claiming to have bombs in his shoes has caused panic in Kanawha City Friday afternoon.
Dispatchers say they got a call just before 12:30 p.m. that a white male in a jacket and jeans had been making threats at the Kanawha Village Apartments.
Several emergency response units, including the bomb squad are assessing the situation.

A bomb is a lot easier to hide than a gun, and it doesn't require a back ground check. I can see bombs becoming the new normal.
