The Obama administration is attempting to bypass Congress and force publicly-traded companies to reveal their political donations through regulation.
The Securities and Exchange Commissions Division of Corporate Finance has begun the steps necessary to create a regulation that would in many ways mirror the DISCLOSE Act a bill Senate Democrats have failed to pass through Congress.
Created in reaction to the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court ruling that said corporations and unions could not have limits placed on their political expenditures, the Senate bill would require political organizations to publicly name their donors and the amounts they give.
The SEC regulation would do the reverse force companies to disclose the political groups they support and have a similar effect.

This administration is going to severely punish EVERYONE whom they perceive to have opposed them. This is becoming downright evil. It is pure revenge.
When we win, we will use whatever tools out there, including a constitutional amendment, to turn this back, (David) Axelrod said, referring to the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling.
“It is pure revenge.”
So, too, will be what’s coming to them in return.
Why are they so afraid of this? It didn’t stop them from getting reelected.

As to the SECs chances of actually forcing the DISCLOSE Act through regulation, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday that the SECs Republican commissioners are committed to seeing the proposal blocked.
Since Axelrod does not know what the constitution is....this is quite a threat...(s)
Statists never quit. They do not believe in the rule of law or even respect for their fellow citizens. Winning by any means is ALL that matters. It’s a sick thing, but there it is.
Oh, they’ll use the law when it suits their purposes, but they’ll ignore it or work to subvert it when necessary. These are evil, sick, controlling people with infantile outlooks on life. Most conservatives, on the other hand, just want to be left alone.
Thats what the rallying cry was right before the election by Amir Owebama: Get the Rich (Whitey and his tokens)!
I’ll bet the SEC can’t force the unions to reveal their donations.
There is no representation of The People (EXCEPT FOR "HOLDER'S PEOPLE) in this country anymore.
There is absolutely zero chance that Axelrod and his ilk would attempt to pass a constitutional amendment. They don’t have anywhere near enough votes, and they know it. Why bother anyway? If they don’t like a law, they’ll use whatever works so long as they get their way. Honorable people try to follow the rules. Honorable people try to play fair. The left isn’t honorable.
Conservatives shouldn’t lose sight of what we’re dealing with. These are the same type of people who murdered millions of their fellow citizens in the 20th century in their mad quest to create a brave new world.
I thought political donations over a certain amount were all public any way?
I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked.
No, really, I am.
Honest.
Just as soon as Bambi reveals all his foreign middle east donors.
Are the unions going to be revealed?
Are the unions going to be revealed?
If they spend the money on their own instead of going to PAC or candidate directly, they may not need to report it.
I am not the expert by any means
I think they (Axelrod, the administration) are just poking the tiger through the bars of the cage to see if they can make the tiger jump.

Maybe so. Sounds dangerous. Maybe they think they have enough power to take on the tiger? You have to admit they’re no longer hiding their intentions. Methinks they think they have a winning hand and they are playing it.
