"Rubio is just rehashing the McCain-Kennedy amnesty. It is pure political pandering and it will destroy this country along with the GOP. Do you really think most of the GOP base will support amnesty?

So, i suppose it's better to have nothing done, all the while they keep coming in with no enforcement being done, once they are here! Great!! Hold on to your "principles" while the country slides into the abyss!!!!

The first rule for a doctor should be the same for a legislator, i.e., first, do no harm. An amnesty would be far more damaging in both the short term and the long term than not legalizing the status of the 12 to 20 million lawbreakers. I have given you just some of the impact that would have on our country. Personally, I believe it would destroy this country with the stroke of a pen.

That government you trust so much, says that the border is under control and that the number of illegals has been decreasing since 2007.

“It is unlikely that the unauthorized immigrant population increased after 2007 given relatively high U.S. unemployment, improved economic conditions in Mexico, record low numbers of apprehensions of unauthorized immigrants at U.S. borders, and greater levels of border enforcement,” the demographers said in their report.

Of the current illegal population, only 14 percent have entered the U.S. since 2005. That means the vast majority have been in the country for years, putting down the kinds of roots that immigrant-rights advocates say should earn them the chance to achieve citizenship. Those favoring stricter enforcement balk at that, however, saying it amounts to rewarding those who have broken the law the longest.
