"Marriage equality is a vote-getter for Democrats and a vote-loser for the party of the last century, the Republicans."

"More and more states are adopting marriage equality, and it is time for the U.S.A. to lead on this issue."

"No issue has changed more dramatically than support for gay marriage over the last 10 years. In 20 years, it won't even be an issue."

My party should avoid the issue: 48%
Other: 14%

"Wouldn't it be fascinating if, for once, the Republicans were on the front side of a historic wave, rather than thrashed around in the undertow?"

"There is a conservative case in favor of gay marriage that can easily be made around the issues of smaller government and lower taxes."

"We can't be a party that supports a zone of personal freedom and then try to use federal power to curtail it. Plus, we increasingly look prejudiced, and not a little stupid, on this issue."...

"The GOP is going to need to maneuver quickly to get ahead of the shifting cultural currents on this issue."

Brightitude, I have a typo problem too, so I understand the embarrassment this can cause. For instance, you inadvertently hit "ft" instead of "tt" in the above quote [emphasis added].

But I think I understood what you meant.

Happy to pile on after the ZOT!

Traditional (i.e. one man with one woman) Matrimony is the lynchpin of Western Civilization. It's Sacramental in my religion. I've already left the Republican Party because they are not reliably on board with this. American society abandons this tenet at its imminent peril.

I don't know if the zotted one is an R operatove or a homo agenda operative (do I repeat myself??) but the answer is given numerous times on the thread. NO - a thousand times NO - to Sodom and Gomorrah. No way. If the R party elites want to shove our faces in it, vast numbers of us will not vote R ever again. It is a losing issue in every single way.

Homosexual “marriage” law is about persecuting those that refuse to service homosexual behavior.

You may have hit on something here.

Marriage licenses are public documents. They have to be public for very good reasons.

Maybe someone in New York should get a copy of every marriage license taken out by homosexual couples and publish their addresses on the internet.

I wonder how quickly that would cause liberals to start agreeing that gun owners have good reasons to be upset with the New York newspaper that printed the addresses of gun permit applicants?

A professor was fired from San Jose Evergreen Community College after being accused of providing an “offensive” answer out of the textbook to a student’s question about heredity and homosexual behavior. She had essentially asked if people were “born gay”,and the teacher truthfully answered that no one really knows.... but THAT was an un-PC answer.
http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2008/07/19/academic-freedom-at-san-joseev/

With last week’s stunning revelations that the entire faculty of a Midwestern university campus voted without dissent to investigate a Christian librarian for “sexual harassment” simply because he recommended the bestselling book “The Marketing of Evil,” many are asking why not a single faculty member stood up for the librarian.

The question is especially compelling in light of the decision reported Wednesday that the entire faculty had essentially overstepped their own written policies and had wrongly accused the librarian.

The lock-step faculty support for the two openly homosexual professors who led the charge against the librarian might have something to do with the fact that freshmen at the small Mansfield campus of Ohio State University are required, during their first quarter, to undergo what the university calls a “diversity seminar.”

Hewlett-Packard fired a Christian employee for posting near his cubicle a sign with Bible verses relating to the prohibition of men lying with men. This was in response to a celebrate-sexual-diversity poster put up by the company.Hewlett-Packard does not celebrate diversity of opinion.

Probably prudent for the party to avoid the issue until they can find a face-saving way of getting in line with current public opinion.

Would this be the same shifting public opinion that rejected homosexual marriage by the citizens of Californication, or the one that legalized the use of Marijuana in several states?

Instead how about if we are the party that informs and educates the public about the real dangers of aberrant behavior?

Glad you’re feeling better, Darks.

I think I crossed paths with this troll in a previous iteration, when he was claiming that the GOP had to attract voters who claim no religious affiliation. I asked him what issues these voters considered decisive, other than abortion and homosexuality, and he responded with information about how popular abortion and homosexuality were.

so pushing feces into a mans body makes you think we shoudl agree with that and then you come on here and try to tell us in no uncertain terms we have to agree with that tells us that you have some serious mental issues to resolve.

I suggest you think for feces, where the prostate is where the colon is and then ask your self if that kind of feces poking is healthy and natural as well as clean.

that is the word

feces.

these people would have us beleive that they are just happy go lucky gay[meaning happy] folks who love each other, what is not mentioned is their feces attraction, them pushing feces further into a mans body, poking the prostate and colon and bringing about diseases plus for many of them public bathrooms, dog parks all seem to be places where they can;t help themselves to have that turn on for feces.

Because of their love for feces they then expect people to go along with their agenda and let them play happy families, well not for me not now not ever
