Truth is the first casualty. The liberals will demonize handguns later, because so many people have obtained permits and carry compared to when the AWB went through in the '90s.

It is easier to peel off a smaller segment of the firearm population, those who own those 'eeeevil loooking' "assault weapons" which wet the panties of the average liberal, and will unfortunately still be thrown under the bus by the occasional Fudd out there who thinks his rifles will be safe if he sacrifices yours.

They can point back and say" see, if the AWB had still been in place...", ignoring the restrictions some jurisdictions have already placed on them, and even though the semiautomatic rifle is used in fewer crimes than virtually any other class of firearms (muzzleloaders, .50 BMG, and serious competitive target rifles may be the exceptions).

Facts don't matter, their goal is their god and in their minds even the truth must bend before that.

Remember your Alinsky, and even the rhetoric falls into place.

Except that it was the Feds and their liberal press who were initially pushing the "4 handguns and handguns only" meme until the ME and the state police held their news conference and set everyone straight.

And yet we still have supposedly intelligent people who claim that the Feds and their liberal press can't be trusted out of one side of their brain and yet trusting them out of the other. They're just stuck on stupid.

The same thing was done with this that has been done with Benghazi: A pile of mis/disinformation speckled with some shreds of truth. You have to winnow through the haystack to find the needles.

While the media is pulling every emotive trick in the book to extract all the pity it can for the victims and families in an effort to:

1) sell soap

2)deter people from rationally discussing the issues

and 3) stop anyone from digging into the facts.

Then the narrative can be tailored to the agenda, and the few who pay attention won't matter to the herd.

Whether or not this was a false flag operation, the details cannot be allowed to interfere with the official narrative, because that might mess with the agenda.

Sandy Hook is not Benghazzi.

The investigation is being carried on by the state police of Connecticut in Sandy Hook’s backyard in front of 28,000 watchers not by the State Department [Clinton, Obama, and Holder] 5000 miles away with no one watching.

I know Sandy Hook is not Benghazi, but the media treatment of facts has been similar. Bombard the public with multiple levels and layers of misinformation, intentionally or otherwise, the effect is to obscure the actual events, and then pop the "official version". The differences are obvious: First, the administration couldn't bury Benghazi fast enough (no agenda to push there, just a pile of embarassing questions).

The Administration keeps digging in the Sandy Hook event for pathos to try to push an agenda, and because Sandy Hook has so filled airtime, it has helped push Benghazi and Fast and Furious past the back burner to the old and forgotten news category in the public mindset.

The take-away from this, however is the media tactic of blasting the public with a Chinese menu of variations on events, location, details, etc., and then finally pulling the sanitized version out of the hat to present a weary public as the official version of events.

If people are too confused they weary to the point where they will swallow the official version, regardless.

How does the “official version” that they popped differ from the actual account of the shooting as played out LIVE on the police dispatch as published on the very day it happened, and the facts listed at wikipedia.
