That wasn’t the point. What I meant is that many people here on FR are very emotionally involved in this because they have guns or use them a lot, while I’m not that emotionally involved but regard it more as a matter of principle.
However, when I heard that would-be dictator arrogantly announce at his press conference that “He” was going to simply order measures, violating the Constitution in so many ways that it’s hard to know where to begin, I completely lost it. We have a serious, serious problem here, and he hasn’t even begun his second term.
Like you said, it shouldn’t matter whether you own a gun or not. The president cannot alter the constitution by EO & should not go anywhere near there. That being said, I can’t believe that someone doesn’t own a firearm for personal protection in this day and age, unless you can afford to live somewhere with 24 hr. armed security.
