U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is developing a wide-ranging immigration reform planincluding steps to give more than 12 million illegals currently in the U.S. legal statusin an effort to seize the initiative on a contentious issue that polls show is hurting the Republican Party with the nations rapidly growing Hispanic population.
Rubio laid out the broad outline of his plan in an interview with the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal, at the same time President Obama announced he would push a comprehensive immigration plan of his own this March.
Surprisingly, both hold similar goalscreating a process in which undocumented workers in the U.S. can gain status and at the same time create a potential path to citizenship at some point in the future.
Republican lawmakers have told Newsmax that Rubios plan could pass muster, even with immigration hardliners, if the plan included a significant restitution for illegals to pay and began taxing them for their work here.

Eh.. color me skeptical. The US doesn’t produce math/ science... BS! Translation= Business find US math/ science experts cost more because the federal government requires Employers pay more for them than Imports. If you are a techie who lost his job to a low paid, low federal tax import, speak up. Sure there are a zillion examples of non math/ science proficient citizens. This does not mean we need to open the flood gates of illegals. Are they really more proficient? Or just cheaper to hire? Rubio off the rails. I am disappointed.

When he runs for POTUS in 2016- like Romney he will claim he is a “conservative” and I will not vote for him. He will say the GOP needs to be more inclusive...yada yada...

12 million huh? Yup, that number just keeps going down and down when it serves their purposes to have it do that.
