The historic vote approving its own controversial proposal to station 300 to 500 retired police officers at local schools was symbolic because Mayor Bloomberg and Dennis Walcott can veto the councils recommendations.
Staten Island residents voted Monday night for armed guards in schools, but the citys top education official said hell shoot down the initiative.
Its not happening. Plain and simple, said Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott. I cant be any clearer than that, he added, echoing Mayor Bloombergs longstanding position in favor of gun control, not gun-toting guards.
Walcott said armed guards are not needed: We have safe schools.(continued)

First place to start with the commitments is New York City!
They should make it crystal clear from the start that if the idea is shot down, Bloomberg and Dennis Walcott “don’t care about children, but only about gun control, and they are willing to risk the lives of innocent children to get what they want.”
Bloomers theft of the citizen’s Three S’s (salt, smoking & soda) didn’t seem to upset the citizenry too bad.
Let’s see how losing the fourth S...students...goes over.
These opponents need to be overwhelmed by a mob of angry parents.

Never mind what those Staten Islanders say. We know what’s good for them, and we’ll stick to it even if it kills them.
