New questions are being asked about the ethics of Sen. Harry Reid; a Utah businessman is alleging that his state's attorney general demanded $600,000 as a bribe to Reid in exchange for dismissal of a federal investigation.
Certainly the allegations could be false, but it's worth noting this isn't the first time Reid's name has come up in connection with some pretty shady propositions. Remember the shady, underpriced land deal? Or the green energy conflict? There's so much there, pithily summed up by Investors Business Daily as follows:
. . .shadowy years he ran the Nevada Gaming Commission, through his public embarrassment over the Los Angeles Times investigation into his son and son-in-law's Washington lobbying activities, the ethics investigation into the free tickets Reid happily accepted to boxing matches and the successful land development deal that ended up netting Reid $1 million when he sold it, in an amazing coincidence, to a friend and it became a shopping center.
As a general matter, it's right to wait until serious allegations are actually substantiated before repeating them. But in the case of Harry Reid, an exception is entirely warranted.
Mr Cleanface’s face isn’t.
Why stop with Dingy. Could not the entire Senate Dems be found with felony corruption charges?
Looks like the trail has been found how he obtained ten million dollars.
The Bush Justice Department had 8 years to look into Harry Reid and other Democrat crooks. It instead pursued Republican scandals — Enron, Jack Abramoff, Scooter Libby (Valerie Plame affair), Alphonso Jackson (HUD Secretary), Karl Rove (he resigned) among others.
He certainly would if McConnell was dirty to get his way
Every time McConnell takes to the Senate well, keep asking Reid to come clean on his corruption...whether it's true or nor not is immaterial, after all it's about the "seriousness of the charge" according to democrats that really matter...
I guess I can dream...
HArry Reid will spend the rest of his life being honored and collecting awards, just like Ted Kennedy.
When Reid was asked how he managed to become a multi-millionaire on a salary of $190K (only two years spent in private employment before politics) he said that he was fortunate to have “good investments”.
Read this for a good rundown of his “good investments”: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/314025/how-did-harry-reid-get-rich-betsy-woodruff#
We live in a kleptocracy.
Seem like the fact that Hairy Roid and others are openly ceding their responsibility to represent their states to Obama should be enough to remove them.
The Tom Smothers character in the movie “Casino” (crooked Vegas County Commissioner) was based directly on Harry Reid, just as most of the other major characters had real life counterparts.
And you think the avg dimwit who votes for the rats will even comprehend?
“Idiocracy” is no longer a work of fiction.
I don't think they'd care if they did. Their problem is moral rather than intellectual.
HARRY: Money Mob and Influence In Harry Reid's Nevada
(a book by FReeper DaxtonBrown)
How was ENRON a republican scandal?
Reid and gangster Lefty Rosenthal had a major confrontation at a hearing of the State Gambling Commission that Reid was Chairing just as depicted in the movie between the Smothers character and “Ace” Rothstein.
Harry Reid is a Vegas mobster plain and simple.
