One of my kids was in Beijing for a summer studying Mandarin. He’s generally healthy, but a bit prone to bronchitis, but in Beijing he came down with a pretty bad case of pneumonia. He believes his immunity was down because of the extreme pollution there.

When I was in Beijing 10 years ago....you could taste the sulfur in the air....that combined with the dust from the deserts being pushed in....really made it hard to breathe at times....

Just recently I was looking through some old books....and I found one that I read while there....when opening it I could smell the odors from that time...it permeated the pages...
