For those of us who were on the fence whether Ann Barnhardt was a taco short of a platter, here's the proof.
Seemingly she closed her brokerage business while having a sizable mortgage. The reason she claims to have taken this mortgage is to prevent some near-do-well from aborting her child. Predictably, this had not the desired effect; now there is just one more up and coming near-do-well in the world.
She continues to defend her actions despite clear evidence that she was manipulated by satan's spawn.
Sad...
And how many other dumbasses are now sitting in prison for taking the exact stand?
She's a nut job, pure and simple and anybody here who actually supports her is a clear indicator of how far this site had devolved back to the days of Michael Rivero........
But with that being said, WHY AREN'T YOU AND THE REST OF HER SUPPORTERS FOLLOWING IN HER FOOTSTEPS? After all, you've now raised her up to Joan of Arc status and a martyr certainly needs faithful followers willing to suffer the same fate or they die for nothing........................
I know, I know, you got the job, the mortgage, the payments on the boat and the new truck to think about and the kid you're putting thru college.........
I loved that! And she bookmarked the koran with bacon before burning it, then gave her address for anyone that wanted to come after her for doing it.
So let me get this straight; a child is a child is a child. If she were saving taliban or al qaeda children from disaster it would be cool too. She gave money to a bad person to raise a bad child, where is the virtue in that?
Fine, her heart was in the right place, but after realizing the mother is evil and is likely to raise an evil child, where is the virtue?
This does not mean I am for abortion, far from it, but if giving money to the poor, no matter their circumstance is right, then why not just pay your dang taxes? All she did was cut out the middle man. Big deal.
Yes, a child is a child is a child. We are ALL created in God’s image. Where’s the virtue in your eugenics??
That video was what first made me aware of her. I admired her very much for that video.
But many of her subsequent statements have caused me to suspect that she really is a nutcase. Nutcases are often bold and, many times, they will agree in policy with us.
But, beware of nutcases.
It is not eugenics. If the state gives money to crack smoking mothers who abort half their children, you cry foul. Ann does it and she is a hero. All she did was bypass the feds. Big deal. The only good was thta it was of her own free will and not through coersion.
We fire bomb Tokyo and Dresden and toast all sort of children and pregnant women trying to destroy an enemy, why otherwise aid a child of satan?
Aristotle points out in his Nichomachean Ethics that giving, charity and altrusitic actions are important, but only when rightly done. Giving a wino money to buy a drink is NOT charity, it is NOT virtue; and this is essentially what she has done.
Furthermore, she advocates the practices of Ann Rand (who was pro abortion and eschewed all form of charity). What she has done does not jive.
As another poster noted, she should have bought the kid out right or given the money to an anti-abortion group. At least it wouldn’t have furthered a low-life thief.
Bottom line, Ann made a mistake, as we all do, and will not recognize it. The Bible is rife with examples of people misled, she is simply another.
“a martyr certainly needs faithful followers willing to suffer the same fate or they die for nothing”
May I suggest, you have a faulty understanding of martyrdom.
“She’s a nut job, pure and simple ...”
I wonder if that was ever said of Joan of Arc.
Cast that stone, Rey. Cast it far, and hard.
Read the original...she states that the kid is being raised by a criminal sociopath and she notes that the kid will likely not turn out any better; color provided by a photo, but is never mentioned.
For my part: I don't even know who Ann Barnhardt is or why she seems to be both worshiped and not worshiped. That said; from her own words in this case I'd agree with the author's title conclusion. Her arguments, side stories, and conclusions are either barely related or pathetically stated.
I've read your name calling and seen your dismissive response, but nothing of a well reasoned assessment of Ann's beliefs. All I can infer from your advice is bend over at take it, whichever way it comes and for however long? You're free to that opinion and your opinion of Ann. For me, I admire her courage, and make no claim to be able to match it. I don't count myself as a supporter or follower of her, but I admire her drawing a line in the sand and stating it publicly. While we still can, I'm choosing to take what preparations I can to give myself and my family options when the time comes to draw my line.
I'll try to stay out of the way of the law and order types who will line up against those wishing for freedom; those who would gladly stand with a tyrannical government to imprison those who won't bow to kiss the ring of our would be masters. Those who can justify their actions as "just following orders" while they oppress fellow citizens. I hope there aren't too many of those types on Free Republic, but I know there are some. I just hope they have the courage to question what the media and the corporate elite controlled government call truth and justice, because what we're sold now ain't it.
