... Obama is drawing an A-list of performers for his inaugural festivities, including a massive gala expected to draw more than 35,000 revelers....

Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Alicia Keys and Brad Paisley are among the stars planning to sing at Obama’s inaugural galas Jan. 21 and a children’s concert on Jan. 19. Also signed up are Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and the cast of “Glee.”...

... While Obama has cut the number of inaugural balls lower than any president since Dwight Eisenhower was first sworn into office in 1953, the two celebrations will be elaborate. The larger of the events, simply called The Inaugural Ball, is expected to draw more than 35,000 in a reflection of the quadrennial demand in Washington to toast the president in person on such a historic day.

I always figured Brad Paisley was a Dem but really disappointed in this. Seems pretty shortsighted for him to do this. As noted here his fanbase is clearly not a fan of this President, and it just doesn’t make sense. I suppose it would be difficult for artist to turn down an offer like this from a personal perspective.

As another noted when he mentions in the song a few years ago about having a black president I made the same assumption, however it could have been a observation that simply fit in the song’s message. Sounds like it was actually in inspiration for it. Now, I look at his most recent song in a similar light. Basically he’s saying not all southerners are redneck hillbillies, if I am hearing it correctly.

Brad Paisley is not country he is crock (country-rock) and his music sucks. If it isn’t George Strait it isn’t worth listening to.
