... Obama is drawing an A-list of performers for his inaugural festivities, including a massive gala expected to draw more than 35,000 revelers....
Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Alicia Keys and Brad Paisley are among the stars planning to sing at Obamas inaugural galas Jan. 21 and a childrens concert on Jan. 19. Also signed up are Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and the cast of Glee....
... While Obama has cut the number of inaugural balls lower than any president since Dwight Eisenhower was first sworn into office in 1953, the two celebrations will be elaborate. The larger of the events, simply called The Inaugural Ball, is expected to draw more than 35,000 in a reflection of the quadrennial demand in Washington to toast the president in person on such a historic day.

IIRC, Brad is from the coal producing, gun owning WEST VIRGINIA.
Court jesters performing for a naked emperor.
I always find it funny when people assume that because someone is part of a certain genre of music that their politics fit the stereotype. Politics are all over the map in all musical genres. Brad Paisley appears to be a Dem but 50 Cent is a Republican.
Surely you KNEW that Brad Paisley is a HUGE Odumbo supporter - right?
He has been since he was first elected - I stopped purchasing his CDs for this very reason.
That looks like a list of artists whose discs I don’t buy. Guess I won’t start any time soon.
Smokey Robinson is the only one I’ve ever heard of. Guess I don’t get out much.
Obama’s Balls
Brad wants to be a Dixie Chick?
Paisley’s been an obama Suck-Up from the get-go.
Values mean nothing to people who will sell their soul for a dollar. Sadly, there's plenty of them out there.
Brad married a Hollywood actress. He is whipped.
Paisleys been an obama Suck-Up from the get-go.
Let’s see how many cds he sells to his leftist buddies this year. Hope he’s been saving his money because his base just got slapped in the face and won’t be near as excited to hear his voice. Paisley will have to rely on the occupiers to buy his stuff. Good luck with that.
I remember Paisley gushing over having a black president in one of his songs years ago - that’s when I knew he was a liberal.
I think Band Peery and Lady Antebellum played at some Obama function last year or the year before, too. They’re taking over our music.
I assume you never saw the 2008 interview where Brad Paisley gushed about Obama and all the wonderful things he was going to do. I think he even said Obama was the inspiration for one of his songs. You are right that if Brad couldn’t sing and was just some West Virginia “redneck”, Obama would view him as a KKK member. But apparently Paisley isn’t aware of that or doesn’t care or, worse yet, agrees.
Classless acts for a classless ass.
No, I missed that interview. I enjoy his music, but he obviously is stupid when it comes to what is good for America.
“Court jesters performing for a naked emperor”
Haha . . . good one.
Nero fiddled while Rome burned . . . and the band played on as the Titanic sank.
Of course, the important thing isn’t the welfare of the country but that the so-called President enjoyed his time in office.
I always figured Brad Paisley was a Dem but really disappointed in this. Seems pretty shortsighted for him to do this. As noted here his fanbase is clearly not a fan of this President, and it just doesn’t make sense. I suppose it would be difficult for artist to turn down an offer like this from a personal perspective.
As another noted when he mentions in the song a few years ago about having a black president I made the same assumption, however it could have been a observation that simply fit in the song’s message. Sounds like it was actually in inspiration for it. Now, I look at his most recent song in a similar light. Basically he’s saying not all southerners are redneck hillbillies, if I am hearing it correctly.
