The Latest Perils of Obamacare
Citizens Council For Health Freedom ^ | 1-9-13 | Twila Brase

The latest perils of Obamacare have been revealed. The law is going to be more painful than many experts predicted. Besides the negative impact on quality of care, there will also be significant cost increases leading to reduced access to health insurance and patient care.

Huge Premium Increases. The New York Times just reported double-digit increases coming for health insurance. The reporter reminded readers that "one of the biggest objectives" of the Obama administration's law was to "stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers."

Before he was elected, Mr. Obama promised a $2,500 reduction in family premiums in his first term, but premiums went up by $3.065. Now that Obamacare has passed, we know that what's in it, among many other painful realities, are even higher premiums. Mark Bertolini, CEO at Aetna, predicts health insurance premiums will double for small businesses and individuals. I predict more people to drop their insurance and pay the penalty.

Obamacare is a train wreck, and Democrats in the Senate are about to be in the middle of it.

Remember, the Supreme Court invalidated the part in Obamacare dealing with the coercion of the states, through the withholding of Medicaid funds, to form the state exchanges. Now, thirty-some-odd states have either opted out, or are about to do so.

This means Obama must now set up a federal exchange, and no funds were allocated in the law for this purpose.

And we have the House.

Since the exchanges were going to be the mechanism by which subsidies would flow to the poor to help them buy a policy, now the poor, already battered by the payroll tax increase, will scream like stuck pigs if forced to buy insurance.

Something’s got to give, and if you are a Senator up for reelection in 2014, you don’t want to go to your own “townhall”, because you will be skewered if the mandate stays in place. This is another “fiscal cliff” if you’re a Democrat, with no way to blame it on Republicans. Remember, the people who didn’t have policies were quite happy without them, and those who have policies are seeing the increases and know who’s to blame. This bill is only popular with those who want the pre-existing conditions benefit. Everyone else, statistically, hates it, including doctors.

This is what Michelle Bachmann knew last week when she put a bill up in the house to rescind the law. Her bill may get shot down in the Senate....this time, but at some point the Dem Senators will see the existential imperative involved here, IMHO.

This never was a health CARE crisis. Care is being provided, and the cure for a health care problem never was universal health insurance. The insurance companies are already screaming, because adverse selection was going to be avoided only by them receiving premiums from a much larger base. Now this simply will not happen, so even those who can now afford policies, soon won’t be able to.

Perhaps Reid can ignore it this time, but at some point, and the clock is ticking toward 2014.....the trains shall meet.

The leftards will blame the “evil corporation” insurance companies for not absorbing the dictated cost increases and blame them for passing their costs of doing business in the price of their goods.

That is the gem of the whole thing....

“but they can’t be required to be doctors.”

You might think so, but the reality is that with Obamacare and with John Roberts’ treason, the government now owns our physical being. Add that to the currently accepted and promoted attitude that any money not paid in taxes is rightly the government’s money, and you have the formula to force anyone to work in any field that the government deems necessary to the public good.

The government confiscated your physical being and is staking claims to all of the fruits of your labor. You are a slave and your fellow citizen deems that as desirable.

The government will force doctors to provide their medical services to others for whatever the government deems as a fair rate. It is the next logical step to the tyrannical!

Well the good news it’s “free”

The ONLY person NOT asked as to their wants were—the DOCTORS.

Is it plausible that doctors don't have lobbyists?

No, it is not.

For several years now in many jurisdictions doctors can’t renew their licenses unless they take mandatory hours of continuing education in such things as treating homos, treating minorities and multiculturalism. You must take those hours or you will not have your license renewed. The government has the docs by the balls.

“For several years now in many jurisdictions doctors can’t renew their licenses unless they take mandatory hours of continuing education”

This is a trend in all licensed professions. I have to do the same as a Professional Engineer. Now as to specific requirements for specific continuing education, I can’t speak to that.

If anything, medical licensing will have to be eased and the responsibilities of doctors will be diluted- because many doctors will simply retire or choose something else rather than put up with these requirements - and not enough doctors are in the pipeline to make up the difference.

So again, you will be left to your own devices to make sure someone is actually qualified - not that you would have recourse if they weren’t.

There are DOCTORS who dedicate their lives to the care and treatment of their patients, with some time off for their families.
There are those “DOCTORS” who are at the head of the AMA who are dedicated lobbyists feathering their own nests, such as the “leaders’ of various unions do for themselves at the expense of their members.
It is the doctor in his office, examining an ailing patient who is not asked for his thoughts. That is where the catastrophe will center.
