The thing that would have stopped/slowed this idiot is if the full capacity mags had been locked away.

There have been reports that the SH shooter didn't expend his mags before swapping them out, that there were still rounds left in them. Possibly a lot of rounds. Apparently due to his fixation (and possibly muscle memory) with first-person shooter games that allow the shooter to replenish their virtual ammo at any point without penalty.

If someone can please repost the link to those, I'd appreciate it.

If accurate, it should serve to demonstrate that high-capacity mags weren't really an issue here. What it WOULD mean is that detachable mags were - since it only takes a second or two to swap out mags.

At least that's how the Left will portray it. I know a lot of gun-ignorant Libs who have managed to get well educated, VERY quickly, on the differences between high-cap mags, low-cap mags, detachable mags, etc. I have no doubt that's where they're going in a incremental manner. First ban "mean-looking" guns and "high-capacity" mags. Then go after semi-autos and low-capacity mags. Then go after detachable mags altogether.

I heard that too but considering how accurate the media reports have been I dont put too much faith in them. We also dont know how many rounds he fired from each mag before changing. Could have been a few or many.
