Last month, the Journal News sparked a firestorm of protest when it published a mappable database of every licensed gun owner in Westchester and Rockland counties, north of New York City. The paper obtained the datawhich New York state law explicitly and unambiguously demands be made publicthrough open records requests. The reaction was swift and furiousgun rights and privacy advocates published the names and addresses of the paper's editors in retaliation, and the paper (ironically) hired armed guards to protect against threats.
Criminals are looking for ‘gun free homes’ - - easy pickings. You don’t want to be in that group.
Deagle, you might want to buy a gun so your name will appear on a gun owner list in the event this stunt is pulled by your local paper.
That would make you a columnist for the Washington Post. And you would get off scot-free.
My thoughts exactly!
You (legally) cannot in NY. You have to arrange a meeting with the pistol permit office and get the gun added to your license before you can ever take possession of it from a gun shop. Private party sellers would be unwise to sell a pistol to someone else and neglect to deregister it from their license.
God, I’m glad I left that hellhole.
Ammo doesn’t need to be regulated, have you tried buying any lately? Shelves mostly empty here and dealers typically don’t know when they’ll be getting more.
Think and hope that this is only due to the high sales due to Obama. Doubt that it will continue - much longer.
Some laws are meant to be broken.
Tyrants follow no law.
They could just as easily print the names and addresses of every Republican, Conservative and Libertarian Party member in the city.
Where’s the hotlink?
Glad I'm pretty well stocked up is all I can say. I can wait for the panic buying to be over before I resume. Some folks are going to look back and realize how stupid buying up ammo at these prices has been.
