Meanwhile back in reality:
LSD is physiologically well tolerated and there is no evidence for long-lasting effects on brain and other parts of the human organism

The reason long term drug users have issues functioning in society isn’t the drugs, it’s their want of them. People that can’t hack reality can’t hack reality, with or without drugs.

We don’t agree on anything. No line needs to be drawn, because drawing those lines accomplishes NOTHING. People that want to do drugs will, prohibition fails over and over again.

prohibition fails over and over again.

As do laws against rape, robbery, burglary and murder. Would they stop if we rescinded the laws against them?

Someone pushing LSD on FR is telling me about reality -LoL!

Drugs don’t harm people?

But you just posted about harmful drugs and suggested drawing a line.

I agree about that.

"LSD is physiologically well tolerated and there is no evidence for long-lasting effects on brain and other parts of the human organism."

I must disagree. I know 3 people who have been messed up by LSD. The first was my brother. He took some and had serious memory problems for years.

Another was a musician I know. A group he was touring with thought it would be cute to spike his drink with LSD. Well, aside from falling backwards off the stage, his brain has never worked the same since. If he weren't married, he would be on the streets. He can't balance a checkbook, or pay a bill or follow logic for very long. He can still play his brains out though, so at least he can earn a living.

The third is my good friend's son. His friends spiked his drink and it triggered a schizophrenic break which he has been working many years to overcome. If he didn't live with his mom, he too would be on the streets.

Oh, and none of these three is a long term user, and neither do they take other drugs. I have spent over 40 years in the music business and cannot tell you how many people I have seen ruin their lives with illegal drugs. No, I am not a user. I hardly even drink wine.

Foolish. My best friend from college days got deep into acid; He’d trip for 3 days at a time, on and off again for a period of couple of years.

His ability to rationalize diminished, his attention span shrank, and it got to the point where he became too weird to be around.

30 years later I still can’t carry on an intellectual conversation with him.

2nd case, another college friend inherited a farm in the mountains, a pile of cash from his grandfather and immediately dropped out of school and started following the Grateful Dead around. He got so baked that when we all caught back up 5 years later he didn’t recognize me or 1/2 the others who used to hang out with him daily over a two year period.
