The positive side of America’s new malaise (The 'brain drain' is moving from US to Canada)
National Post ^ | 01/08/2013 | Conrad Black

As the curtain fell on 2012, and America’s implacably inane “fiscal cliff” melodrama played out, all was symbolism and posturing. Following the last minute deal, the President led the nation in New Year’s revelry with a press conference that was a frenzied verbal caricature of the Republican opposition.

Regular readers will recall my past Jeremiads about the unfeasible condition of American public debt: an annual federal deficit of almost 10% of GDP, largely paid for through a fraudulent shell game in which the Federal Reserve purports to buy its parent’s (the U.S. Treasury) bonds by the cyber-issuance of notes, compounded by the effective bankruptcy of many states and municipalities. This alarming state of affairs has persisted for five years, and is aggravated by the absence of any real economic recovery, and of any will in places of authority to try to come to grips with the Gordian Knot of problems that comprise this horrible mess.

SNIP

The other good point is that Canada is now, for the first time in its history, receiving significantly more immigration from the United States than it is losing. There are rewards for having managed our affairs better, and having avoided federal and current account deficits.

All Canadians will wish the United States as swift a recovery as possible from its self-inflicted misfortunes. But more than anything else, Canada needs people; and as always, including up to 60,000 Empire Loyalists during and after the Revolutionary War, and an about equal number of fugitive slaves in the decades before the Civil War, Americans will be welcome and valuable in Canada.

A good deal of previously reluctant European immigration is now available to Canada also.

I was born in Canada.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has run a tight ship, has a stable majority government and Canada has none of the problems that plague America.

Canadians have never been more fortunate!

Indeed, Canada appears to be much more in the spirit of traditional America than much of the Socialist States of Obamadork. We have always been blessed to have such a good neighbor.

Oh, when CW-II comes over here, please do NOT give the Obamadork, the Pelosiwench, the Boxerb**ch, the Frankenfeinstein, or Whorehouse Harry shelter when they attempt to cross over.

We want them for the trials - and the guillotine.

It is funny how things change.

I can remember when the left wing hate Americans during the Nam War were running to Canada to escape the draft and just to get away from America.

My Mother wisely said, “Those A$$holes and traitors are now Canada's problem, and they will force Canada into being more conservative after a few decades!”

Unfortunately, she didn't live long enough to see her predictions come true.

Now, we will see a different outflow of people to Canada. We will start seeing the top 2-5% of shakers and movers heading to Canada.

Canada's one big fly in its attraction is its commitment to a national health insurance forcing its citizens with the $’s to come here for serious and complicated health issues. That will change as Obozo care drives more of our Doctors out the country or out of their practices.

If I was younger, I might sell our California home and head to Canada, Victoria or Vancouver

And as time passes, I guess there will be fences and border guards. That fence dividing North and South Korea isn’t there to keep the South Koreans out, it’s too keep the North Koreans IN.

Right?

That is 100% correct Fred.

Soon to leave the United States one will need to acquire an exit visa from the Dept. of State, one will need to pledge security to gurantee a return, and comply with currency restrictions on the transfer of funds from the USA to any other nation, in terms of carried cash. Failure to do so, to return or comply will trigger IRS/FBI pursuit abroad.

Americans have already lost a considrable amount of freedom of movement through DHS checks and artificially high fuel costs. The noose will grow tighter as the left becomes more desperate to acquire tax revenue and population control.

The time line for this is about 4 to 8 years. Obama will be followed by a leftist president just like Obama. The Republican party is officially DEAD.

“Conservatism is dead, it’s just too hard. Let the government look after all that. They just need more money to do it with.
Let’s give it to them and then we don’t need to worry.”

says the majority, until the money runs out...the restrictions on the movements of people and their assets have to start early.

I don’t know. As long as Canada along with the USA still has people teaching in its universities who think like this (below), there’s still a whole lot of trouble in Canada, too. And Canada has laws aimed at making Christian pastors cower and keep their mouths shut with regard to sodomy and sodomites living together and calling it “marriage.”

“Paedophiles may be wired differently. This is radical stuff. But there is a growing conviction, notably in CANADA, that paedophilia should probably be classified as a distinct sexual orientation, like heterosexuality or homosexuality. Two eminent researchers testified to that effect to a CANADIAN parliamentary commission last year, and the Harvard Mental Health Letter of July 2010 stated boldly that paedophilia ‘is a sexual orientation’ and therefore ‘unlikely to change’.

Yes, the money WILL run out. Obama wants that to happen. Very few, including Republicans in the Senate, understand that.

And when the money runs out? Watch the deadly bloom of fascism in the USA.Many will die.

“If I was younger, I might sell our California home and head to Canada, Victoria or Vancouver”

Don’t bother. Been to Hongcouver for Christmas. Nothing’s changed but something caught my eye when I was on Granville: homeless people were literally sleeping in the middle of the busy street which cuts through downtown Vancouver. And you can semi judge the real employment of any city by Craigslist: most of my friends and family members say there are no jobs in the Vancouver area. 5 years ago, you wouldn’t see 1 white dude as a security guy, now they’re in the majority. Just like in America, mass immigration are kicking out the native-born canuckistani’s..just my thoughts from someone who spent Christmas there ;)

“Any thoughts Max?”

Here’s one: if the canuckistani inferiority complex doesn’t exist...why are there 2 liquor commercials (Sleeman and canuckistani club) that keep harping about “we helped Americans during prohibition” or “canadian club was the most imported during prohibition..”

Why do these Kanadian commercials keep talking about Americans all the time, like they want their attention? ;) You don’t see US commercials bitching about their neighbor..

Marketing, I would guess.

The fact that Canada has been a good friend to the US would be a good for sales.

I was just wondering if you had mellowed any towards the country of your birth. I don't understand the contempt you feel for it.
