"There's more sick and strange news out of Newtown, Connecticut today. Investigators looking into the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School have let slip that shooter Adam Lanza wore earplugs when he went on a murderous rampage that claimed 27 innocent lives. By doing that, Lanza dulled at least one of his senses to the chaos that was unfolding inside that school. He was immune to the chaos he was creating. He had closed himself off to the screams, to the pleas ... Why? ..... We do know he had a form of autism, and loud noises may have bothered him.

Concern over Autism stigma after Newtown

Autism Had Nothing to Do With Adam Lanza’s Rampage

The news that the Newtown shooter suffered from autism explains nothing about his act and only further complicates the job of explaining the condition to the public, writes Richard E. Farley.

I note the story states Lanza was THOUGHT to have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. There is only one source for this THOUGHT, that being Lanza's older brother, who was reported by the media as stating he thought Adam may have had Autism or a personality disorder. I've not seen or read of any video of Ryan Lanza making that actual claim; there is only the media reporting Ryan Lanza made said claim.

There has been no doctor or diagnostician who has come forward and verified that Adam Lanza had been diagnosed with any disorder, neurological or otherwise.

By the way, there are people who are sensitive to noise who do not have Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. Also, there are no cases of a person with Autism or Asperger's who has committed a planned violent attack.
