Every time I start to read an article and the author refers to handgun mags as "clips," I stop reading.
It's the same stupid mentality as those saying you can't miss with a shotgun, and being shot in the hand by a .45 ACP round will spin you around like a top; and the expression, "a clip hold bullets" drives me nuts.

Most of it is actually unintentional. They are in a hurry to be first and get the most watchers, so they run with everything and the kitchen sink while highlighting whatever is most sensational.
After the action, it boils down to laziness and ignorance as they start gleaning information from each other rather than get real sources and facts from themselves. At the upper levels of the media, they will indeed pick and choose what facts they use to shape the story to fit their agenda.
You can glean the truth from reading the actual news releases put out by the law enforcement agencies and the ME themselves, instead of the reports based on the news releases.
The ME says the victims were shot with the .223 and the shooter was shot with one of the pistols (forgot which). I believe that is the truth, the ME has no reason to lie and general claims of false flag conspiracy are just as much bullshit as is the media spin on civilian “assault” rifles.
