Sounds like the local union thugs made him an offer he couldn`t refuse...but he refused anyway.

I thought the killer was clever, waiting until the next day to avoid suspicion. I’m surprised so many people suspected foul play immediately.

He got a lousy $425 out of $1,000,000 win? 57.5% taxes Ban Gov. gambling not quite that bad (yet)...the 425,000 is the cost of an annuity that would pay the prize over 10 years....he could have opted for 100,000, before taxes, per year, over a 10 year period. If he invests wisely, he is much better off this way.

That’s a good thing to know, thanks. You know, just by the miracle of a chance I am in a position to need this information. LOL (Not likely.)

Probably a short list of Suspects in his Murder ...
So easy a “Revenue Enhancement Agent” could do it.
Biggest obstacle will probably be what their cut will be

Unfortunately, I don’t need the information, but I do believe in good planning.
I even have my fantasy house planned I, the event I can afford to build it.

I wonder if this case is like the whodunnit “Murder on the Orient Express”. I wonder if all his relatives did him in. They are saying the only one who ate the dinner was the victim. None of the other relatives ate the food. Maybe they are all in on it, or most of them. Regardless, someone ought to make a movie out of this one.

“The less obvious; A male relative did it, with plans to frame the wife, hence the request by a relative for a fuller investigation.”
Bingo. That’s what I’ve thought from the gitgo. Frame the wife to get her out of the collection pool. If the victim lived, he would have gotten it all. Now with him, dead, the wife would get it, unless you could get her out of the way. The relatives were going after part of the winnings. They all had motive.
