Are Democrats done raising taxes on the American people?
No, says House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
We can raise more revenue, says Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.).
And Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) says there are still deductions, credits, special treatments under the tax code which ought to be looked at very carefully.

So annoying. Why not just get to their goal of giving us a stipen. That is what they want anyway. I am surprised that they just don’t put everyone in a tenement, with giving out basic food and a 50 dollar a month spending allowance. Heck I can’t believe they never even thought of it. And about spending? I can’t believe that they have not even brought up conservative goodies to cut. These people can’t even bring up a single dollar of spending...
100% would not be ENOUGH for these MORONS
Democrats are nothing but criminals and thieves.
TRANSLATION: “The working peasants still have some money.”
Tax Democrats only.
Measured against what most Americans expect the government to do for them, they are probably right.
As mentioned on another thread - obama rejects the notion we have a spending problem. If you are a marxist there is no limit to taxation because ultimately govt takes everything and provides everything.
Our side better get prepared for a debate on the fundamentals of capitalism.
Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) Yesterday on Fox...a smirking, smarmy parrot without an origional thought, just talking over, with “talking points” the other guest. I damn near strangled the TV!
The chances of any additional tax increase happening in this Congress is remote. Boehner managed to hang on to his job by a thread. He's not going to go that far again.
Maybe in 2015, if the 'rats win n 2014 -- but the mandatory congressional district gerrymandering to preserve "majority-minority" representation makes that unlikely before 2022, if then. The majority of Republicans won their districts with higher margins than Obama won.
My guess is that Pelosi's, Reid's and Durban's mailboxes must be overflowing with messages from constituents who opened their first 2013 paychecks and were shocked to discover that they're the "millionaires" that Obama promised to screw with his tax increases!
Of course not, they don’t pay their taxes. They expect the rest of us to do it instead. If all the Rats who owed taxes (Rangel and Timmy G. included) payed what they owed, then maybe we wouldn’t be in the bind we’re in.
Here’s how I see it:
Revenue = payment for government services plus wasted revenue.
So, to determnine the amount of revenue (taxes) needed we first determine cost of the government services we want (I’ll get to waste shortly). That nails down the revenue needed.
What services do we want? That’s always under debate, especially the services where money is transferred from the haves to the have-nots. When the liberals ask for more money they’re really asking to expand government services (and also power over us). I don’t want more services on top of the ones we have now that we are not really able to comprehend in their entirety.
I want to hold the line on revenue because I think government already provides too many services, or should we say services that are too expensive, and also because I believe that a lot of revenue is wasted or misallocated by sneaky manenvers.
The situation is compounded because of our enormous debt that we must pay off. That gets us to one of Obama’s huge lies — that we must raise taxes to service our debt. And Obama wants to keep on borrowing.
I will say further that the politicians can say what they want about where our tax money goes, but we see much evidence that they sneakily spend our money on things they don’t tell us about.
Trust? Transparency? They ain’t there. The best way we can control the size of government and where they spend money is to avoid giving them more money. Too bad it has to be that way, but that’s the way it is.
I encourage the Dems to forge right ahead in the hunt for additional taxes on the American public. From what I am understanding, the “sheeple”—at least those who work for a living—are beginning to notice that their pay checks are smaller and are wondering WHY!!! They thought only the evil rich were going to suffer, not THEM!
So, Dems—go ahead and broadcast to all that will listen that you want even more!
The article mentions Sen. Durbin, and I live in Illinois. He can run for re-election in 2014, and a conservative Republican, Chad Koppie, a member of the Kane Co. Regional Board of Schools, told me that he’ll run. If you know anyone, who lives in IL, please tell them about Chad. In the 1998 governor primary, Chad was the only conservative candidate. He’s pro-tax cuts, pro-spending cuts, pro-life, pro-gun rights, and anti-illegal alien.
With the amount of rent-seeking, inequality, and upwards redistribution going on it's a debate that needs to be had.
Of course not....the Democrats will only be “finished” in their work when they can seize 100% of (What they believe belongs to the Gov’t) your money. They might give you back barely enough to live on....the rest is to be given for Obama phones and for the Elites to live the “High Life”.
Mock their positions to their faces.
Please sign and promote the White House Petition:
Produce a Trillion Dollar Coin for Every U.S. Citizen for the Purpose of Paying Taxes
Activities and services pledged by the U.S. government exceed the ability to pay based on current tax revenue. The budget deficit is added to the national debt, and federal taxes are used in part to pay for the debt and interest.
“Trillion dollar” coins are being considered to pay the national debt, however, we petition the U.S. Government to mint an adequate quantity of “trillion dollar” coins to pay off the national debt, and enough additional coins to provide one for each citizen of the United States.
These coins can only be used to pay federal, state, and miscellaneous taxes for the lifetime of the recipient. Residual funds from each coin will be available to heirs of the recipients, and will be exempt from inheritance tax.
