"Taken 2" was disappointing, perhaps because the first was so good. A CIA agent takes his family to Turkey, where he is the victim of a revenge kidnapping from his actions in the first movie. This time, the 20-ish daughter is the one doing the searching from directions given by the captured Liam Neeson via a hidden cell phone. The weakness is the premise, wherein Neeson---who made a great hunter---now has to play the role of the prey.

By coincidence, I just saw "Taken 2" today. I thought it was good--not as good as "Taken," which was excellent, but still worth seeing.

BTW, you mention "Lincoln." Liam Neeson was Spielberg's original choice for the title role, and I have thought for a long time that Neeson would be great for that role. But he bowed out, and the part went to DDL, who I hear was great. Haven't seen it yet.

I saw the first one, mostly on the recommendations of some in the FReeper Canteen. It was a fun movie, a bit of a throwback, with a lot of aging stars who could still hold their own and entertain.

I had to laugh at the trailer for the second one when the names pop up to the sound of bullets, and then they just keep coming!

Thanks for the ping. I really enjoyed Huel's shows. He went to places my busy life has prevented. California parks and other sites make this state very special. It makes me sick to think how it has turned into a socialist haven with an open border that can't even respect the beauty that will be trashed by the illegal invaders.

Huel's "California Gold" is being robbed by those who have no right to be here. Imagine having a jewelry store where you leave the back door unlocked every night. How long would you be in business? How long before your copper pipes and copper wires are all stripped out? That's California- about to go bankrupt.
