I read this story (link above) on the Breitbart website and I was disheartened, to say the least.

I'm from Illinois and in this last election, we got our clocks cleaned. I've heard all the versions of why we lost most of our seats here in Illinois, and the White House. Election fraud, it's Romney's fault, he didn't make enough of a case, yada yada yada. I still go back to the one fact nobody can dispute and that is the fact that 3 million Conservatives did not vote. Romney just wasn't perfect enough for them so these so called "conservatives" didn't vote, the Dems won, WE LOST, and now we have 4 more years of Obama! It should be noted for those that haven't realized this yet, you don't get everything you want when you are not the majority party. Period! Grover Norquist, one of the favorites of the Tea party (which frankly has always boggled my mind considering all of Grover's nefarious radical Muslim connections!), even concedes this fact: http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2013/01/03/audio-grover-norquist-declares-the-fiscal-cliff-deal-a-victory-for-tax-cutters/

When I read the story by Matthew Boyle on Breitbart, I cringed. I read it a second time from the perspective of a Democrat and I must say, the "institutional left" really doesn't have to do a thing to win elections with this kind of reporting! If I was a Democrat, I would be smiling from ear to ear and I would hope this kind of "useful" reporting continues!

I suggest Michelle Bachmann, and the "more than 20 House Republicans who were considering unseating Boehner" and that "bailed" and voted Speaker Boehner back in, better watch their backs. These so called Conservatives are not happy with these votes! Further, I read somewhere that Allen West was nominated as Speaker and that truly surprised me. I send this email below again to remind people, who invoke the name of Andrew Breitbart, that Andrew Breitbart truly detested Conservatives turning on each other. He knew how it felt and how damaging it is. I'm also again including Andrew's UNITY speech again where he said: "This is my war cry for 2012. You need to join me in my war against the institutional left." and: "This is not your mother's Democratic Party... duh! John Podesta and George Soros? This is not your mother's Democratic Party You know whose party it is? ...I have a thesis about who we're fighting against on the hard left... [In college] I had no idea these [left-wing academics] people were actually serious about the malarkey they were teaching. The post-structuralist, politically correct garbage." "They try to portray you in the worst possible light... and when I travel around the United States meeting people in the Tea Party who care -- black, white, gay, straight -- anyone that's willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker, and if you're not in that bunker 'cause you're not satisfied with this candidate, more than shame on you. There a great expression of immense wisdom: If you don't like what you're getting, change what you're doing! It's time Conservatives stick together and do what Andrew asked, let's all get in that bunker and beat the institutional left! We need to learn to do what the left does really well, stick together and support each other. They NEVER turn on each other, NEVER! As we charge on the battlefield of 2013, let's point the arrows at the Democrats, not at each other. If you truly feel you can no longer support the Republican Party then please, please, please, leave the Republican party and form your own party, and I wish you well. Tearing up this party only leads to victory for the Democrats! If you like the expression by Andrew, "Truth isn't mean, it's truth", then I suggest you read the email below. Here's some real truth about Andrew Breitbart and it is clear, he "hated" backstabbing among Conservatives.

Dearest friend, we will miss you.

Andrew Breitbart said that a lot. And he wasn't just talking about liberal liars and hypocrites. As often as not he was talking about establishment conservatives who either never knew or had forgotten what the fight was really all about. He REALLY hated them.

And there are so many of them. You'll find them tweeting today about how much they valued him. They didn't; he scared them. He fearlessly said all the things they didn't have the balls to say. For that he was loved by true conservatives and hated by the establishment frauds. These fake conservatives knew they couldn't be that brave, that courageous, take those kinds of risks and, more than even the hateful liberals, they wanted him to fail. Andrew didn't fail. His words and actions have inspired so many young people, and many not so young, to take action and to speak out wherever they see the hateful liberal narrative being preached.

So many people today will talk about the nasty, vitriolic, irrational leftists whose tweets are such a fitting testimony to their bankrupt morality and such a fitting tribute to Andrew's power to drive them literally insane. But today is not their day.

We drove together on Saturday from Troy to Detroit airport. We had both made speeches at an AFP event over the weekend. He got in the car and immediately complained of feeling really ill. I presumed it was because we had drank too much the evening before. Turns out I was wrong. Andrew was probably dying. But despite this he talked so animatedly about Fox News' dated aesthetic, a CNN offer to team up with Weiner for a talk show, an Aaron Sorkin offer and of the fight, the fight--always the fight--to tell the truth and expose the liars.

He liked to use the word warrior. A few weeks ago we were both in Traverse City for another event and the Dana Loesch peeing over the Taliban storm in tea cup erupted. A conservative event planned for the following day had decided to drop Dana. Andrew hated those people. We stayed up super late that night. Andrew tweeted like a crazy thing. He was on the phone and texting, defending his "warrior princess" as he called Dana. I was a witness to those calls and to the texts and tweets coming from the cowardly organizers, the "it's out of my hands" crowd. Andrew hated you guys; you know who you are. The scene was amazing--Andrew tweeting and texting and calling people and getting more and more angry with the organizers of that event who had dropped Dana. He was surrounded by admirers who just wanted to be close to the fire that he was.

I am not sure if Andrew liked Jack Kerouac, but On the Road offers what's for me a perfect tribute for Andrew: "...the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"

Farewell Andrew, brave warrior. You were better than them all. I am so glad I knew you.

Try living up to your screen name. To say that Romney "just wasn't perfect enough for them" is akin to saying that sugar pills "just weren't perfect enough" for those needing penicillin.

Romney's established actual RECORD was the record of a competent functional liberal Democrat. He not only wasn't "perfect" enough for them, they were SMART enough to realize that voting for him would have been voting AGAINST their own best interests.

FYI - I voted against Obama, not for Romney. Romney is not particularly conservative. What infurates me is people like yourself demanding we all go along to elect a guy we don’t want. The GOP leadership is SQUARELY to blame here. They CONTINUE to push leftward leaning candidates and labeling them “conservative”.

MOVE TO THE RIGHT!

The Tea Party isn’t the problem. All they are trying to do is to get the OUT-OF-CONTROL SPENDING slowed down and under control.

The problem is the liberal GOP leadership that is following the Democratic Socialists down the big government rat-hole.

Be warned - I will not vote for a Republican in the 2016 election if they run another liberal.

Can someone clarify our vote totals. Absentee, late voting, etc. totals equaled 2008 totals, or so I heard. Yes, we were down several million as of voting day, but I thought in the end, there weren't many R's who stayed home.

Am I mistaken ?

We have a primary system, in case you didn’t notice. The one who attracts the most vote wins. Your guy/gal didnt win? Blame his/her message or their campaign’s inability to get the message out. It does not absolve you from the fact that these non-votes mattered.

The GOP primary leader shifted many times during the campaign. If your person couldn’t take advantage, it’s their problem.

This “GOP-e” boogeyman is just a convenient excuse to not take responsibility.

Grow up.

Even if that number is accurate, it still wouldn't have been enough. Obama won by 5 million votes. It really wasn't that close. I am not sure where that 3 million number comes from but it's outdated now if you are comparing 2012 to Bush's total in 2004. Bush got 62 million votes in 2004, and Romney got 61 million votes in 2012. There is no reason to think that 1 million people sat home, heck they could be dead or unable to vote by now.

Further, the idea that we lost because some population of conservatives sat on their hands or wasted their vote on vanity candidates is probably nonsense. Most conservatives showed up and voted for Romney. Of people that sat home, most are actually what pollsters call "adults" and they support Obama and populist left policies even more than the "likely voters" that actually turn out. If every "adult" voted, Obama would have won in a landslide instead of the 4 point victory he got.

Remember Virgil Goode? Remember all the supposed conservatives here and elsewhere that were going to vote for him. Remember how we were told that millions of conservatives would walk away from the GOP and vote Constitution Party. Virgil Goode and his Constitution Party got 122,000 votes. That's it. That isn't even .1% of the vote. All the Virgil Goode/Constitution Party BS you saw people posting here and they actually got 70k LESS votes than in 2008.

The one area we are blowing elections most clearly is on the statewide Senate level. Nominating clowns like Akin, Angle, O'Donnell, etc, doesn't accomplish anything other than give the Democrats more 6 year Senate terms. That is 3 Senate seats right there we could have denied the Democrat Party and instead we threw them away on idiotic nominees who weren't even the kind of people that have a long term political leadership role worth building around. I mean come on, Democrats spent 1.5 million helping Akin win because they knew he had foot and mouth disease and would implode. Akin is the kind of guy who is fine for a very socially conservative district, but NOT a good nominee for a statewide office. We need to vote smarter and ignore the terrible advice of boneheads like Mike Huckabee.
