Remington 1858 New Army with say a couple of extra cylinders could be a very formidable weapon. Pietta has it in a "police" model with a short barrel.

I have thought the exact same thing recently. I have looked into it, and they are very nice weapons, and moderately priced (~$200, plus $60 per additional cylinder). And a .44 caliber bullet is quite formidable, whether propelled by black powder or modern propellents. Worked for a lot of guys in the West back in the day... And you don't get on anyone's list, since these are not considered worthy of background checks, etc. Quite a perk in my book...

Funny thing The rest of the modern world will move forward and Chicago will be killing people with Knives, Swords, Poison, Baseball bats, Cars, Plastic bags, Tire Irons, and any other blunt force item of questionable nature, and rocks! Hell we’ll just continue to shoot em!

would the 1873 winchester they used back then be covered under that law, always wanted one
