After a long day of fiscal cliff chaos, the House will finally hold a vote tonight on the fiscal cliff bill passed by the Senate early Tuesday.
The decision to hold an up-down vote virtually guarantees passage of the bill, which would extend the Bush tax hikes for households earning under $450,000. that the bill will pass.
For most of the day, House Republicans have said that they could not support the bill without spending cuts, but by Tuesday night it was clear that GOP leaders could not come up with the votes to pass an amendment to add those cuts.
The House Rules Committee announced that there will be a vote on the unamended Senate bill in the 9 p.m. hour. Check out all of the days developments below.

I would not get to excited. The DC Party will be coming after your tax
bracket too.
Ultimately, we need to form a third party. Neither party wants to cut spending. In fact, most of the public doesn't want to cut spending. They want all the benefits the welfare state has to offer. They just don't want to pay the bill.
“Beware of establishment phonies who have infiltrated the Tea Party movement”
I.E Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing?
Sorry for the dupes! Don’t know where they came from
...worked for Reagan.
Getting engaged with a Marxist requires a ring anyway--and they put it in your nose.
You can bet conservative groups and Superpacs will take a very close
look at the Rino Monkeys who voted for this sham. Hopefully, some
realistic target districts will emerge for primary challengers.
“I think Ryan proved that all of his impassioned rhetoric about lower taxes and lower spending....is total BS.”
I agree. But I am still in shock and pain over this. I just can’t imagine how they could do this to We The People.
THAT is exactly what I can not tolerate. When it is obvious you’re dealing with a communist, why, why, would you comply, cooperate, comply, or even entertain the traitor? Seriously?
I pray you have better luck with Ted Cruz than apparently WI did with our Tea Party candidate Sen. Ron Johnson. and he and Paul Ryan BOTH voted for this assault on our country.,
Paul Ryan voted yes.
Marco Rubio voted NO.
Guess who Im supporting for President in 2016?
Neither I hope. Away with RINOS!!!
Correct, Memphis Moe
Rubio has voted with the Dems on quite a few bills. His vote is shocking because he actually did not side with the Dems.
Rubio is still La Raza, RINO, and Amnesty Liberal. He is not a Conservative. A clock is correct once a day at least
Cantor voted no.
Ryan voted yes.
Rubio voted NO
And very disappointedly, WI’s Senator Ron Johnson voted yes.
The GOP caved completely. And Obama’s reaction:
Obama says the deficit is still too high and warns that he will not negotiate with Congress over another increase in the nations debt ceiling.
“While I will negotiate over many things, I will not have another debate with this Congress about whether or not they should pay the bills they have already racked up,” Obama said in remarks in the White House.”
Thank you, Allen West, for voting against this steaming POS as your last official act as my representative.
What team are the 151 Republicans who voted against this on???
The NO’s cannot hide behind their NO votes and tell me they are conservative.
They can clean out Boehner and other leadership or go form a new caucus.
These phony band aid bills do not stop this nation’s continually growing debt and eventual status as the next Spain, Italy, Ireland, Greece etc.
A new and authentically conservative response is needed to the out of control and unsustainable system of national government originating in Washington DC that is supported by both major political parties.
Has the military budget been gutted as predicted?
They are phony baloney politicians.
The NO’s form a majority that should dump Boehner and other leaders.
I’m not holding my breath for them to do that.
90 plus percent of the Republicans we send to Washington are finger in the wind business as usual politicians.
Their fakery was visible for all to see in the voting pattern tonight.
What team are the 140 or so democrats who voted for this bill on?
Yes, I think I crossed the threshold tonight for a third party. There is no Republican Party. Sick of political calculation, over principles, that the whiners insisti we must stay and change the R’s. There is no principle in the R’s. Third party is the only answer left, to avoid the endless trickery.
If we lose the next three elections, we lose standing up and with principles. Groveling is over. No more beaten over the head to vote for establishment socialist candidates. Third Party looks like the only chance.
From the Fiscal Cliff to the Flushing Toilet.
