FX had 300 on today and I really think Zer0 did a great job capturing Xerxes. That was Zero, right?

"Come, Bitter Clingers, let us reason together.

It would be a regrettable waste... it would be nothing short of madness were you, and your guns and religion to perish... all because of a simple misunderstanding..."

Failure is not only a Democrat Party value.

We have a circular cluster foxtrot here. I click on the link to get to Drudge to see what the story is. His link leads back to this thread.

Never thought I’d agree with your point of view, but I’m getting there fast.

Relax, folks.

We’ve done all we could. We tried our best.

Now just prepare yourself and your families for whatever is ahead whenever it arises - which isn’t going to be pretty.

The aftermath of the extreme failure of socialism and government in general is the next opportunity for a conservative resurgence.

Right now too many people, including the GOP are fully vested in the status quo, as long as it lasts.

So relax, nothing anyone here does at this point can stop the spending spree from continuing unabated.

What we do know is that on the other side of the mess that is sure to arrive that none of the congress members are worth having around to rebuild a conservative America.

We’ll start fresh, with government severely limited by default. Eventually we’ll be able to get the American people to understand that is the natural, intended state of things.

Plan your gardens, socialize with your neighbors, get healthier - the things government cannot yet prevent you from doing.

That’s all we can do at this point.

When you’ve done your best and lost, you gotta let the game play out and be ready to take up the slack later.

If you put your faith in government you will be constantly let down. The people who represent us haven’t done so in years. Put your faith in God as only He can bring you happiness and joy in turbulent times.

Well said.

In a Free America, our leaders do not collude against free citizens to fleece them and herd them as they desire.

There will be a lot of hard work to be done for the country, but that time is not now. Now is the time to get your personal imperatives taken care of.

The despair over cliffs and ceilings is wasted energy that could be better spent figuring out how to make do with a lot less - and helping other people in your sphere do the same.

'TWAS THE NIGHT HE STOLE CHRISTMAS

He was bony and thin, an arrogant elf
And I cringed when I saw him....and prayed for myself
With a wink and a nod to the slavering press
He took off for Hawaii to stick us with the mess

If and when the world economy collapses, which appears inevitable, the only ones who will survive are those with enough land to grow their own food and enough weapons to protect their land and families. Anarchy can happen very quickly when panic sets in. We’re already seeing glimpses of it in Europe and Argentina. Those who believe America will be immune from such disruptions are in denial. A depression of the magnitude of the 1930s would be 10 times as devastating because of the increase in urban populations and the fact that most people lack basic survival skills. America and Canada barely survived the Depresssion, at a time when most people still lived in smaller communities and could grow their own vegetables and hunt or fish to supplement their family diet. America now has tens of millions of people who don’t even have basic cooking skills and who depend on fast food and frozen dinners.

We all saw how quickly civil order broke down in New Orleans because of an isolated crisis. Imagine a similar level of crisis across the US. Imagine what it would be like in Chicago, LA, New York, Detroit, etc., after the looters cleaned out all the stores. FEMA can’t even supply basics in the midst of an isolated crisis in one area of America, it would have no way to support desperate populations in every city. Once the food runs out, you’ll have bands of desperate people roaming into the countryside in search of food.

Very good. A horrible apparition.

My favorite episode is “The Obsolete Man” and in essence transfer books for the Internet and the dictator for Obama; we are all Wordsworths (the character played by Burgess Meredith).

This was capitulation, plain and simple.

I am in favor of replacing both Boehner and McConnell with conservatives who will shut down the government rather than let Obama finish destroying it.

I am just saying that plan B was less capitulation than what we ended up with. The house republicans are in such disarray that they are attacking each other instead of the marxists who are disemboweling the constitution.

Sure they are, their own ‘friends’ waited at the back of the line until is was passed THEN voted ‘NO’; some courage.

ALL GOP ‘leadership’ needs to be replaced. There is NO voice, no line in the sand they won’t scratch and re-draw, no principles and no standards.

Even Bachmann gets my ire; where was she on the mic while all the BS was going down? Where was ANY GOP opposition voice?

We must run tough candidates in 2014.

We?

You presume that all of us are still members of the GOP. Reading numerous threads, that is clearly not true. I certainly will not vote Republican anymore, nor help them with money or time. Some individual candidates might still get my attention, but they will have to work for it. The GOP is now dead as a primary choice for me.

>> You presume that all of us are still members of the GOP.

Philosophically, I’m a Conservative Libertarian, but will remain a registered Republican because anything else is greater fantasy than transforming the Republican party.

All too often the response to political adversity is “Galt” or “Civil War”, but never the mundane footwork of grassroots activism. I don’t understand the rebellious attitude that ultimately amounts to doing nothing.
