Thanks, unique, for the countdown to the new year.
I had an interesting New Years, I volunteered to assist in fire suppression of a massive four trailer 700 tube launched personal fireworks display here in Wasilla, Alaska.
It was warm at about 37F, a bit windy but after troubleshooting several firing radio controlled receivers sunday and some electronics magic fingers on my part we had a huge fireworks show.
So here I am after about half way through when on two trailers their was a sizable fire starting up whipped by the winds, me I’m ducking the cannons going off and literally walking right up to the launch trailers with a pressurized water fire extinguisher.
Oh I tell you it was a hoot doing all this roadie-running between trailers putting out blocks of aerial launched fireworks. Now everything is e-matched lit by batteries so I wasn’t putting out non launched rockets in firing tubes, just the big cardboard trays that were attempting to spark off everything, I had one errant missile take off sideways in front of me. My son later is chanting “by the rockets red glare....”to me and laughing.
Mostly it was a huge success except for one remote receiver that may not have been turned on.
