A Kansas sperm donor who was ordered to pay child support for the baby he helped a lesbian couple conceive plans to fight back in court, and suggested he might be a victim of bias against same-sex parenting.
William Marotta told FoxNews.com he might never have agreed to provide sperm to Angela Bauer and her former partner, Jennifer Schreiner, had he known the legal morass that awaited him after responding to the women’s Craigslist ad for a donor in March 2009. The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) recently filed a child support claim against Marotta after the couple filed for state assistance this year, leading the department to demand they provide the donor’s name so it could collect

Why don’t they get the child support from her ‘partner’?
After all, they cry like Kansas City fa@@ots to be equal.

They should go after Octomom’s sperm donor for child support for her 14 kids. One man fathered them all.
You know of course that if your wife cheats on you and has another man's child, you are still on the hook for child support, right?

Life is just NOT fair, is it? You do what you are supposed to do ... get married (man/woman) and you get nailed if the wife cheats & has a kid that’s not yours.
I still have little sympathy for anyone answering Craigslist ads for sperm ... he didn’t even take the $50 that was offered ... I guess he’s big on charitable ‘contributions’. It’s all just “nuts”.

The article states that it was not the lesbian couple that demanded child support from their sperm donor but the Kansas department of Families and Children. The lesbian couple actually supports their sperm donor in his fight not to pay child support and only provided his name when the Kansas department of Families and Children demanded it.
I say that a sperm donor who signs a contract forfeiting his parental rights (such as visitation), as this man did, should not be on the hook for child support. If these two women want to be parents they should assume full financial responsibility for the child, as they did until the Kansas welfare people started interfering. The article also says that because Kansas does not recognize same-sex marriage same-sex partners cannot be held responsible for child support, so that’s probably why the welfare department’s going after the sperm donor.

I really wish people would read the story before commenting....
Unless you were held down and forcibly raped to gain your sperm, which is rather difficult. And your sperm would still not produce a car.
YOUR sperm creates YOUR child. (Not a car.) And no matter how the law looks at your ownership of that child, it will always be your child, and nobody else's.
Unless you sign away all rights and agree to legal anonymity in this modern world designed and run by lawyers.
