Flashback: Hugh Rodham Dies After Stroke; Father of Hillary Clinton Was 82

Hugh Rodham, the father of President Clinton's wife, Hillary, died last night in Little Rock, Ark. He was 82 and lived in Little Rock.

Mr. Rodham was hospitalized on March 19 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center after suffering what his doctor said was a stroke. Carolyn Lindsey, the director of communications for the medical center, said Mr. Rodham died at 8:35 P.M.

By some accounts, Mr. Rodham had been in poor health before suffering the stroke in March. When he went to a baseball game with Mr. Clinton in July 1992, he walked slowly and with a cane.

Hold on there. The man died at the ripe old age of 82, which is a nice, long life, especially for a male. Everybody dies of something! When I hear statistics about heart disease being the #1 killer, etc., I often wonder if they include people over the age of 80. Let’s face it, eventually something stops working and our time is up.

The fact that dad died of a stroke at 82 doesn’t really mean much to Hillary at the age of 65. Now if she has uncontrolled hypertension, that would be of note.
