The Tea Party has had an up-and-down political ride since the movement helped Republicans take control of the House in 2010, but those elected in the midterm elections still appear to wield considerable power in the fiscal negotiations.
The roughly 50 members elected to the House two years ago have been a challenge for the more moderate House Speaker John Boehner since they took office. Perhaps most memorably, many of them refused last year to support a debt-ceiling bill because they said it didnt reduce federal spending enough.
Just last week they squashed Boehners fiscal plan by refusing to compromise and vote on a tax increase for any American, despite the House speaker -- in his so-called Plan B -- having suggested extending tax cuts only for those making more than $1 million annually.

Promising. Now they need to replace Boehner when Congress is back in session.
The supposed “death” of the Tea Party is a figment of imagination in the medias brain. The Tea Party DOES exist and soon will become even more powerful as the Republicans destroy what is left of their once powerful party. I am a believer that the Tea Party (We, the people) will take this country back.
Love it.
And props to the Tea Party Representatives. They deserve our thanks for having SOME backbone and putting the welfare of the country first.

Man, it's amazing how much damage a determined Marxist president can do.
Bonehead took away their committee assignments and other elements of power. Now he needs their votes. They don’t owe him a thing..................................
