I doubt the mother has a clue about chemistry and what is explosive or not. She is female
I hold any kid who has not made black powder in low regard. It is what one does growing up.
Thanks!
Most of us are lucky we’re still alive after some of the crappola we pulled when we were young.
Normally I'd be against such an unconstitutional intrusion too!...but in your case........with all the ignorant statements going on lately, I'd be OK with a one time lobotomy for you!....THINK ABOUT IT!...Will ya be ok with that??...I am!
The boy’s family should sue that do-gooder teacher, and the school.
Oh, so you missed the fill your mouth with lighter fluid and then spray it out into the air and light the cloud trick. Nice effect, stopped doing it when I lit my chin on fire(no injury, just fear:)), but my friends persisted. No one was ever injured.
As for drawing weapons in the 1940s and 50s I drew airplanes, fighter planes(P51,P47,Corsair,etc.), shooting down Nazis and Japs. During the Korean war it was Sabre jets against Mig15s, Migs always going down in flames.
I am sure if my friends and I were in school today we would all be in jail.
BTW, I didn't make my own black powder, my step father had a supply and my brother and I would "borrow some" for our own uses, never telling about it of course.
When my son was in ninth grade, a kid in his Spanish class, was bragging about having made 5 pipe bombs, using the book that he took out of the library, and said that he was going to use one on the school library, one on the cafeteria, one on our house because we lived in a gated golf course community, and he was taking suggestions for the other bombs.
I called the school and the school called the police and took the bombs from the kid.
Actually, it was more frightening having been on the other end of the situation. There was a kid at my son’s high school who actually made bombs from the cook book and was threatening to use one on our house, and a couple on the school.
Also, my husband once intercepted a whole box of books like the Anarchist Cook book that someone had sent to an oil tanker in his company’s fleet. It wasn’t addressed to anyone in particular, just the ship, so he just confiscated it. It included a book on how to produce false documents as well as bombs. I forget the rest of the books, but there was a whole carton of them.
Also, from a few days ago:
14 year old creates a fusion reactor in his home:
Uh-oh, kid has a screw loose. When I was a kid, we blew big cans up into the air, or blew manhole covers off with our pipe bombs. Normal things, just for fun with no one getting hurt. Using them against structures with people inside or on living things is definitely a sign of an unhinged kid.
We are so willing to give up our freedom and liberty for a false sense of security — we don’t deserve either anymore.
We need someone brave enough to stand up and say “yes, some kid might build a bomb and blow up a school, but that’s just the cost of freedom.”
Because we all have the parts for a bomb in our houses. And if we have the internet, we have the directions for the bomb.
Will ya be ok with that??...I am!
Whatever is best for society as a whole.
No, I'm not serious. ;)
Sounds like he's doing work at home based on what he's learning at school. This raid was based on a drawing one of his teachers saw? Kinda flimsy basis for a search, I'd think, especially with no threats or previous problems with this student.
*G*...I rest my case your Honor!!
