Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Sunday that chances for a small fiscal cliff deal in the next 48 hours were exceedingly good and that President Barack Obama had won.
I think people dont want to go over the cliff if we can avoid it, Graham said on Fox News Sunday.
This deal wont affect the debt situation, it will be a political victory for the president and I hope well have the courage of our convictions when it comes time to raise the debt ceiling to fight for what we believe as Republicans, but hats off to the president; he won, Graham said. He stood his ground. Hes going to get tax-rate increases.

In other words the majority of the population that does not support the system but leaches every bit of blood from us WORKING WHITE FOLKS that they can get.
The Republican brand is indeed very “tarnished.” Millions of people vote against it even though the particular kinds of Democrats they wind up voting for (the ones who have usurped control of the D party) cost them jobs (and pretty much generally undermine or destroy the country they’re living in).
The R party needs to take stock of how it has let itself be so grossly mis-characterized. And, it needs to nominate better candidates, too. McCain was abysmal as a candidate (leaving his politics aside), and Gov. Romney’s best campaigning efforts were in the R primaries instead of the General Election.
The problems with secession have more to do with politics and logistics than with actual implementation. On an electoral map of the United States, on a county-by-county basis, there are WAY more “red” counties than “blue” counties, and the “red” areas are almost all contiguous, while the “blue” areas are fragmented and often widely separated.
Which means, effectively, the “blue” areas would have to organize as separate republics, all of which would be dependent on the surrounding “red” districts for their daily supply of foodstuffs, energy, and transportation networks. It is impossible to administer any nation divided into discrete regions over hostile territory, which would leave the much smaller “blue” nations largely at the mercy and good graces of the larger “red” republic.
Much better at keeping them restrained and respectful of the rights of others.
Austria-Hungary learned the folly of trying to keep highly disparate populations contained and subject to a “one size fits all” kind of government.
The Soviet Union was once faced with the same problem. Their solution was to relocate large segements of population of a given district far across the rest of the territory, in a forced diaspora, Thus you find Lithuanians in the Crimea, Kazakhs in Leningrad, and Mongolian people in Latvia.
You got that right. Whenever a lib tells me that 0bama was reelected so the people want the rich to pay more , or some similar nonsense, I'll counter with, "Yes, and 105% of the voters in Pillly can't be wrong."
There is no way Hussein won this thing legitimately. This election was way too close and even many liberal pundits were calling for a GOP win , and a switch in the Senate. This election proves we are officially a banana republic.
I agree 100%. This “election” was a fraud. Way too many precincts where Romney received zero votes.
I disagree, a third party may be our only hope. A third party will emerge, but I can not predict if it will be successful or not."
Actually our only hope is for the states to step in and create some new constitutional amendments that will bring the federal government back into line.
Hats off to an evil, anti-American communist thug? No thank you. We need to fight every White House effort to weaken and destroy American freedom.
Even though large tracts of America and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the socialists and all the odious apparatus of communist rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the South, we shall fight in the East and the West, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the airwaves, we shall defend our Freedom, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this country or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our allies in freedom beyond the seas, armed and guarded by American ideals, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
To all who voted Republican this past election: You got what you voted for. Enough said.
For all who stood their ground and didn’t vote for RINO’s and timid “go along to get along” Republicans because they knew that there was no difference between the GOP and the Communists (Democrats), thank you.
We all knew that the phrase “if you don’t vote GOP you just throw your vote away” or “If you don’t vote for the GOP you just voted for a Democrat”
Well, in this case it didn’t make any difference what-so-ever. The election was rigged and the most corrupt won.
Now, if we ever have another national election or still retain our freedoms, you people just might realize that the GOP CAN’T BE FIXED BECAUSE IT IS TOO BROKEN. Graft and corruption feeds upon itself.
A completely new party has to be formed and with today’s communication systems it can be done in 4 years. Better yet, it can be established on all levels of government and empowered by the remaining productive and free people of America.
Hoping that the GOP can be fixed is just a “pipe dream” and it may be too late for those dreaming about a GOP comeback.
I’m really “pissed” and will not lose my rights by hoping that anything that resembles any kind of “spine” will ever grow on the backs of any Republican.
I knew the Republicans would cave. Thus, we get tax increases but no spending cuts. Disgusting.
Are you saying the GOP didn't say over and over again that Obama wanted tax increases?
It seems to me that they said it pretty plainly. Most people didn't seem to care too much.
Well, in this case it didnt make any difference what-so-ever.
You're writing as though the Republicans won.
But they didn't, so you can't conclude that your not voting for them and their losing made no difference.
In any case, similar things happen over and over again in politics whichever party is in power. Non-voting and just complaining doesn't look like a way to break that cycle (assuming it really can and should be broken).
The Second War of Northern Aggression.
Glad your content with it Senator. I am sick to my stomach of the dog and pony show that continues to be ever enhanced by you and your friends. If you think we are not paying attention, you are sadly mistaken, however, I have no faith that another election is going to make the difference. It is in God’s hands now. You and your friends better start praying, because as I see it, you are not doing his will.
Not just any game though. Chessgame...we are the pawns.
Non-voting and just complaining doesn’t look like a way to break that cycle (assuming it really can and should be broken).
That’s all the help I can give you for your Republican disease. I once had it but now I am cured.
This is a sideshow, as a tax increase on the 1% isn’t going to be felt much even by them. The obamacare taxes, however, will be felt mightily as they include taxes on investment income, and the continuation of the FICA tax will be, too, especially to the working poor.
