I would say that governing in such a way that no one knows what’s going on is a key part of their plan. We’re back to smoky back rooms and secret deals. The media will smile and nod and indicate that this is how government is supposed to work. It’s efficient and gets the trains running on time.
Party out of power usually picks up seats in the off year election, so the GOP doesn’t really have anything to fear in standing firm.
