Back in the Seventies, Claude Bolling wrote the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, and he recorded it with Jean-Pierre Rampal on flute. Rampal knew nothing about jazz, so Bolling had to write out all of Rampal's jazz riffs.

The second movement, "Sentimentale", is absolutely beautiful. When Bolling and Rampal lay that wonderful, silky E-flat down at the end, it always brings tears to my old eyes.
