This is NOT the way Obama wanted the fiscal-cliff dispute to end. Stalemates on critical issues do not enhance presidential legacies.
Obama came rushing back from his vacation to save the day...but he didn’t.
The problem was that Obama misunderestimated the Republican House members. He knew he could get John Boehner to cave on taxes, which he did by proposing his Plan B, but the majority of House Republicans rejected it.
Now John Boehner can go before the country on Sunday and promise that the House will begin the new year by voting to reinstate the tax increases that President Incompetent allowed to go over the cliff.
