Remember: Britain is a violence-free utopia thanks to its gun ban.

As a child, I actually thought that hell probably had few souls. My innocent mind thought, “People won’t do bad things and end up in hell for an eternity”. Of course, I now think that hell must be bursting at the seams. Reading a story like this.. so sad, so tragic... only confirms those beliefs.

Why such head injuries? Doesn't seem like a normal mugging type attack at all. Why would someone hate such a good man so much to do such extensive violence on his head?
Zombies? Someone on "bath salts"? Religious difference of opinion? Islamists or other religious zealots?
RIP Mr. Greaves.

Prayers up. Sad for the mess that Britain has become, that this man could not protect himself with a gun.
Out of respect for the dead and suffering, I will not offer the obvious graveside humor quip that is sitting there staring at me.

I don’t think he had a chance to use a gun if he had one. I think the coward came up behind him to clobber him to rob him. Just horrible.
To: Cronos
At least he wasn’t shot.

From my understanding, High Green is nice suburb of Sheffield - not a place known for violent crime or “urban problems.”

Lovely, and on Christmas eve no less, and on his way to church. And let’s remind ourselves this is preferable and quite acceptable to liberals who constantly and fanatically insist that psychopaths be given the upper hand - that they be given the right to attack and kill others in completely and utter safety without the risk of being shot so they can then be arrested and “rehabilitated” and released back onto society like this redeemed individual.......

'His wife wants justice but she doesn't want vengeance. She is not embittered but obviously she wants this person to be caught.' "...Vengeance is mine," saith The LORD. (Heb. 10:30)
"...the vengeance of Eternal Fire." (Jude 7)
This slouching-toward-Gomorrah perpetrator will suffer the same vengeance The LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah for fornication and going after strange flesh --- IIRC

Read some of Theodore Dalyrimple’s books where he describes a feral underclass in Britain that lacks any sort of morals or even humanity. It’s depressing. This is what a socialist welfare state becomes.

There are only two choices, heaven or hell. By far, most will have chosen wrong.

I read your post that included a comment that Hell must be ‘bursting at the seams’ and it triggered a verse that came to my mind that said “ Hell hath enlarged is borders” (King James Version).
This insight into the characteristics of Hell is provided in Isaiah 5:14: “Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure, and the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude will go down, her revelers and he who exults in her.”

Ralph Martin's Will Many Be Saved? is a weighty new book that attempts to examine that question in great depth and detail. The evidence he marshalls from theologians across the centuries is that Hell is a far more real possibility than what has been taught in the 2nd part of the 20th century.
