In the month leading up to Notre Dame's first trip to the national championship game in more than two decades, Irish faithful have created a series of T-shirts bashing their opponent, Alabama.
Notre Dame is winning the trash-talking battle with the series of racy shirts, but the last thing Notre Dame needs is to provide a feisty Crimson Tide team and fan base with any source of motivation before the game.
Maybe Alabama will take the shirts for their comedic value.
Eleven days to the BCS National Championship game:
Former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen drew criticism from the public less than two weeks ago when he tweeted out a photo of this shirt:
And here's the latest pro-Notre Dame shirt:

I disagree. The Alabama football team will play just as hard regardless of what Notre Dame's players or fans say.
“He ties his sweaters around his shoulders, for cripes sakes.”
ROTFLMAO.....damn that is funny....I bet he also pops his collar......
I used to live in IN ....many people outside of Notre Dame that I knew could not stand that school because they were so snooty.....Purdue an IU are big rivals but I think they agree on their dislike of Notre Dame....
Have a sense of humor? Yes, I do.
Bama was just as bad with their shirts when AU played OR and OR was not far behind.
That’s funny, I don’t care who you are.
You had me at “Hey”....roll Tide!
If they get their Obamajob at McDonalds, they’ll have that 6 figure college loan paid off in a jiffy.
Roll Tide!
AMEN, what you said, and well worth bumping.
as for the class part, not sure how you stop someone I affiliated with the university from making these shirts. I wouldn't wear one, but understand that not all ND fans are like me.
as for the university not teaching the beliefs of the church, people are both rot and wrong. Some professors and priests are very religious, while others are not. The university itself has made some bad choices over the years and the only thing fellow alums and I can do is write letters, protest these decisions and withhold donations.
All that said...Go Irish, beat Bama
After Harvey Updyke and Brian Downing, Alabama fans are in no position to judge the class (or lack of it) of any other college football fans.
Very few Notre Dame fans, who are legion, are wearing such shirts. But, I live in the South, and I have seen quite a few very trashy Alabama shirts trash-talking ND. There is no monopoly on bad taste. Most Notre Dame fans have quite a lot of class. They don’t claim bogus national titles . . . of Alabama’s 14, maybe 6 are legitimate, and they even claim ‘73, which would be a laugh if it weren’t so insulting and such a demonstration of lack of “class.” And they certainly don’t walk around wearing rolls of toilet paper and boxes of Tide on their heads like a bunch of fools. We’ll see you in Miami. Go Irish!
Can’t spell “THUG” without the “U”!
It's pretty much customary..
Please don’t compare ND to USC . . . who leads the nation (with SMU) in NCAA probations. ND has had one minor probabtion in its stories history, for a minor infraction. We know all about the behavior of SC fans in the Colosseum. But, the only time I have ever heard the “F” word used en masse by ND fans was when Pete Carroll, leading 38-0 in South Bend in the 4th quarter, threw a challenge flag after a remarkable ND catch. He deserved it.
Sorry you feel that way. You don’t know Notre Dame.
