According to Peter Schmidt in the Chronicle of Higher Education, yet another individual working in higher education has been demolished for saying the wrong thing about homosexuality. The basis on which to define people as "anti-gay" has, however, taken a turn to the absurd (and eerie).
Unlike Angela McCaskill, who was nearly fired from Gallaudet University for signing a petition on gay marriage, Crystal Dixon of the University of Toledo was fired for writing an editorial in a local newspaper. She referred to Exodus and mentioned people who chose to leave the gay lifestyle.
For this column I will stick to the gay male angle, since I have but 1,200 words. Even if we accepted, for argument's sake (which I do not accept), that McCaskill was "anti-gay" because she signed a petition, the case against Dixon is based purely on wild assumptions about sex. To fire Dixon, one must accept that gay men cannot stop themselves from having anal sex or engaging in fellatio. Without anal sex or fellatio, it would seem that a gay couple is tough to distinguish from roommates who like to kiss each other once in a while.
These assumptions bestialize and infantilize gay men. While I have tired of penning editorials about gay controversies, the situation is dire. I feel compelled to write a column once again emphasizing a basic reality: gay sex is a choice. Nobody lacks the power to refrain from having gay sex. Get. Over. It.
Dixon said that gays had the choice to leave the lifestyle (in other words, stop engaging in anal sex and fellatio). According to her detractors, such was tantamount to being anti-gay. Her detractors are following the lead of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which lists "conversion therapy" as a hate crime.

Homosexuality is a form of mental disease. There is nothing “gay” about it. That word has been hijacked by sodomites to help make the poison go down.
To be fare, it is often a “choice” as a coping mechanism to deal with sex abuse and homosexual rape.
Several studies place that figure above 80%.
“Nobody lacks the power to refrain from having gay sex. Get. Over. It.”
Exactly. It’s that simple. May God bless the author of this article in his current life with his wife.
Given that not-so-hidden past history, to say that a homosexual lifestyle cannot be a choice, but can only be "the way God made them" is utterly ridiculous.
I am currently reading a biography on Whitaker Chambers. I was stunned to learn that he was bisexual (during his years as a Communist). Yes he did give it up. When he turned to God. That is the answer. It IS a choice.
Didn’t the Communists used to infiltrate some British universities with homosexuals as a way of recruiting spies for the Soviet Union?
Just ask odumbi, he’ll tell ya. Gay is a choice and odumbi is all about pro-choice.
But going in the other direction (gay to straight) is impossible, unnatural, and a hate crime to even say it could happen?
Sick. But it's true. Bisexuality is obviously a choice. Sodomites seem to forget that.
Reminds me of some really pointless arguments I’ve had with college age know-everythings...asking them to explain exactly how a “gay gene” ever gets passed on.
Not exactly sure about that. I could easily see the Soviets using homosexual behavior as method of blackmailing people into submission and getting them to do what they wanted them to do as far as espionage is concerned.
Meredith Baxter has been married three times and has had three children. She’s 71 and has recently decided that she is a lesbian. She says the David Birney her formed husband abused her.
The irony is that in America, we believe, and make entire industries of, changing our habits and behavior. We are convinced, we can break addictions to alcohol, we can lose hundreds of pounds of excess weight, we can change sedentary lifestyles into athletic ones, we believe we can stop smoking, or taking drugs.
But the PC left does not allow anyone to say that a homosexual can change his behavior....
The idea, I guess, is that gay people help their relatives pass on their genes, some of which are recessive gay genes. But that seems like a stretch. You may share 50% of your genes with your siblings or one-eighth with your cousins, but you share 100% of your genes with yourself.
What I find frustrating is how my friends who are pro-LGBT simply ignore testimonials like this. You can bring it up to them in a discussion—but then they simply ignore the evidence without bothering to attempt to refute it.
Bisexuals are included for political purposes in the LGBT pretend alliance. They’re the “B” part. Aside from that, though, everyone basically pretends they don’t exist. If called on it gays’d say they’re “born that way.” But it’s entirely too confusing to simultaneously claim you can only be born gay or straight, oh yeah, unless you’re both.
Something similar occurs with trannies, who are grouped with the rest even though they may be perfectly straight. It seems all it takes is for them to be considered abnormal and for the abnormality somehow to relate to sex organs. Otherwise they have no common interests. Heck, even lesbians and male homosexuals generally hate eachother, which is a well known fact.
BS on bisexual, anything with crossed swords is gay. Same with “experimenting”, etc. If you ever did a guy, and you’re a guy, you’re a homo and thats that. And Transexual is a special kind of mental sickness, probably the worst of all of them.
Cutting off body parts goes way beyond the homo thing where they go do sick things with their bodies. They are gays who decide to mutilate their bodies to try to impersonate the ones they wish they were. Worst of the lot in my opinion.
If "tranny" means transexual, it probably doesn't go with being "perfectly straight."
If it means "transvestite" so far as I know they aren't in the LGBTQ or whatever it is yet.
If you ever did a guy, and youre a guy, youre a homo and thats that.
So then it isn't a choice?
