Several conservative House Republican members are contemplating a plan to unseat Speaker John Boehner from his position on January 3, Breitbart News has exclusively learned. Staffers have compiled a detailed action plan that, if executed, could make this a reality.
The Republicans, both conservatives and more establishment members alike, are emboldened after the failure of Boehner’s fiscal cliff “Plan B” on Thursday evening. Dissatisfaction with Boehner is growing in the House Republican conference, but until now there hasn’t been a clear path forward.
Those members and staffers requested anonymity from Breitbart News at this time to prevent retaliation from Boehner similar to what happened to those four members who were purged from their powerful committee assignments a few weeks ago. Their expressed concern is that if Boehner knew who they were, his adverse reaction toward them would be much more brutal than losing committee assignments, such as a primary challenge in 2014 by a leadership-sponsored candidate.

"Republicans need not worry about handing the Speakership over to Nancy Pelosi or some other Democrat in this process, either. “Don’t worry about Speaker Boehner losing GOP votes in a secret ballot,” the House rule document compiled by staffers obtained by Breitbart News read.
It is still not possible for Pelosi to become Speaker even with 100 % of Democrats united behind her and a split GOP vote. The reason is to become Speaker it is not enough to win a plurality. One must win an absolute majority of all votes cast for an individual.
So even if all 201 Democrats vote Pelosi, Boehner gets 1 vote, and the remaining 233 Republicans each vote for a different individual, Pelosi does not win. Pelosi would need 218 to reach a majority of the 435 votes cast for an individual. Since Republicans have a 33 vote advantage in the House, the only way Pelosi wins is if 17 Boehner opponents affirmatively vote Pelosi or abstain rather than simply vote for an alternative candidate. Both these scenarios are easily avoided. The same argument applies if fewer than 435 Members show up to vote. The magic number would be less than 218 but Pelosi still cannot get there so long as there are more Republicans in the room than Democrats and they don’t abstain or voter [sic] for her.
If he is going to be ousted, it would happen behind closed doors in the Republican caucus, not on the floor.
The Pubbies would select someone else to replace him and that person would be their ‘floor’ nominee.
Pelosi and the Dems are irrelevant regarding this, as they are the minority.

There’s talk of Ryan becoming Speaker, as sort of a bridge between the old guard worthless types and the Conservative hard liners, similar to when Dennis Hastert took over after Newt resigned. A hard liner should be Majority Leader. I’m for Tom Price.
I’d like to see a new speaker replace the committee chairs too, but I doubt that would happen. Boehner probably solidified the committees intentionally in case he was removed by the conservatives.

Maybe Ryan? Too bad Allen West was defeated. I hope that Boehner steps down voluntarily.
The Speaker does not have to be an elected House Member so the could elect West or Newt but I don’t believe that would ever happen. The more I hear from Louie Gohmert the more I like him and I think he would certainly be an advocate for Conservativism, the Constitution and the American people so he certainly doesn’t have a shot at it.
I don’t think he will be ousted. But the question I have is who would replace him if he were? Does anyone have nearly as much support as he does?

At the risk of stating the obvious, Boehner is not a leader. He’s just your garden variety politician.
He is tentative, equivocates and engages in the self-feating tactic of publically negotiating with himself. He needs to be replaced by someone capable of taking a consistent and principled stand, driving the narrative, and energizing his troops. He simply lacks the qualities necessary to lead at this crucial time in our history.
A strong leader would be a wonderful contrast to the weak, mendacious and indecisive Obama. Such a leader would significantly help the Republican brand, such as it is.
OK, as much as I have said I would never go to that septic pit, I’ll take it. First order of business: letter to Obama...not now, not ever. Second order of business...national press conference as second in the line to Presidency: “the games are over”....we pass a tax and spending bill now and send it over to freckless Harry by some form of conveyance meant to draw media coverage to show where the buck stops if nothing gets done on it...perhaps by elephant.
This should be a Tea Party Conservative! Oh, yes, and screw what Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer, Karl Rove, and any of the other “smart” Establishment types think!

Constitutional type Scholars say that the Speaker does not need to be a member and this theory hasn't been tested.
Another name floated is Steve Forbes.
A part of me just for giggles would love to see that as everytime he mentions scrapping the code and going to a Flat Tax as it would raise the blood pressure of every leftist loon we could think of :-)....
