On Thursday in his weekly appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, National Review columnist Mark Steyn explained what was to be learned from Jake Tapper’s decision to leave ABC, where he had been the network’s White House correspondent, for an anchoring position at CNN.
Steyn, author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” said that while the rest of the reporters in the briefing room at the White House have very uninspiring approaches to their questioning of the president, Tapper is the exception.
“People think it’s odd that Jake Tapper, who is nobody’s idea of a right-wing nut or anything, but he’s the guy in there, the only guy in there, that’s worth having in there who ever asks anything interesting in the hope of eliciting an interesting answer,” Steyn said. “And look at how much fun that guy has. If I were one of those nothing — those robots in the room, those J-school zombies filing up the room alongside Jake Tapper, that’s what I’d be saying. I’d be saying, ‘Look at the fun this guy is having.’ That’s the only reason to go into journalism. It’s a lousy paying profession. It’s dying in the United States. I mean, it’s dying in a lot of places. But it’s dying faster here, and he’s having so much fun.”

Something's probably up then. Maybe they got hacked. Never heard of that causing that warning or installing malware, but I guess it's possible.
They don't get it because most of the folks who become journalists have not the wit to ask any but programmed questions or ask intelligent followups.
So as I understand it (since Firefox blocked the article), Tapper has been removed from the WH press corps because he asked too many hard questions and now he’s being banished to CNN which no one watches anyway. And he thinks this is a promotion? That about right?
The answer is very simple. The rest of the "guys in the room" would rather have an immediate pat on the head, and a "good boy" from Obama, than strive for only the possibility of future rewards from the public.
The malware flag has happened before. They seem to get hit a couple of times a year.
I doubt that Steyn wrote the headline, but going from Abc to CNN is hardly a promotion. CNN has been reduced to not much more than airport Muzak.
I wonder if there’s been any vitriol yet from the Obamabots over Tapper’s new job?
Jake Tapper is one of the few journalists in DC who plays it down the middle. A bit to the left but down the middle. If the mainstream media was same as Tapper, Obama would have never won in 2008 or 2012. Just via simple investigations into his Chicago sleaze and Chicago real estate deals. Just by asking for school admission records (affirnative action?) and transcripts. Just by asking for more on the birth certificate and SS number

American news “anchors” have higher status than “journalists” with regard to both income and social standing. It’s hard to fault Tapper merely for having ambitions.
