INDIANAPOLIS - Three people have been arrested in the explosion on Indianapolis' south side that killed two neighbors and damaged dozens of homes, RTV6 has learned.
Monserrate Shirley and her boyfriend, Mark Leonard, who lived in the home, along with Leonard's brother, Robert Leonard, were arrested Friday on numerous charges, including murder and arson.
The couple, who lived in the home at 8349 Fieldfare Way along with Shirley's 12-year-old daughter, was visiting a Lawrenceburg casino the night of Nov. 10 when the blast rocked their Richmond Hill subdivision, leveling five homes and damaging dozens more.
The death penalty will be under consideration in the case, sourced told RTV6.

Death penalty? I don’t get it yet. They’re not explaining just what happened, just that they may’ve tried to get money - I suppose insurance fraud?
Doesn’t sound like any murder was intended. Stupid idiots, for sure, but not sure if this is more than “manslaughter” or what I think in school we called “3rd degree murder”, which was incidental and accidental in this case (I think).
Of course they sound like immoral dolts. Never surprised when I see someone is shacking up with another.

It is felony murder. As in a death that results during the commission of a felony.
Thank you. Two people died and about 20 other residents are losing their homes. The homes are being bulldozed and considered unsafe. Some have nowhere to go.
These three deserve a very stiff sentence.
Guess they were living it up at the casino in anticipation of all that lovely insurance money. Wonder if these stoops voted for Zeerow?
Just heard these evil idiots replaced a digital thermostat with a slide switch thermostat that would create a spark and left the gas open on the fireplace. They had it set to a timer.
Geesh, all that for 300 thousand dollars of insurance money.
