Source: CT Murderer Lived in Windowless Basement Playing Violent Video Games
Andrew Brietbart's Big Government ^ | 18 Dec 2012, 7:21 AM PDT | Tony Lee

Adam Lanza, the shooter who massacred 20 children and six adults last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School, spent hours in the windowless basement of his home playing violent video games like "Call of Duty" and obsessing over "guns and military equipment."

Peter Wlasuk, a plumber who worked at the Lanza home, told The Sun that Lanza "lived in the basement" and he found it "strange."

"He had a proper set up down there — computers, a bathroom, bed and desk and a TV," Wlasuk said. "There were no windows.”

Wlasuk said he went down to the basement on numerous occasions while doing work at Lanza's home and said Lanza also had a "huge poster with every tank ever made" and another one with "every piece of military equipment the U.S. ever made." He said the Lanza brothers could tell "you about guns they had never seen from the 40s, 50s and 60s."

Lanza was suspected of being mentally ill and may have had Asperger's. His high school assigned him to a counselor because they feared he may harm himself but not others.

According to reports, Lanza's mother was a "a gun enthusiast who owned at least five weapons" and "took her younger son to a local firing range just days before the rampage."

A family friend told NBC that Lanza's mother said she wanted to introduce Adam to guns to teach him a "sense of responsibility."

“Guns require a lot of respect and she really tried to instill that," the friend said. "And he took to it. He loved being careful with them. He made it a source of pride.”

Yep, facts are stubborn things. Thanks for clearing that up.
I’m sure we will be learning new ones as the days go by. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the kid was diagnosed psychotic.
While we respect facts and require them to avoid acting in haste, the `Emos’ demand “action”, and now! Or maybe we’re too much like Tolkien’s tree-herding Ents?
The truth will out, it usually does although not as much in recent years.

no mother would want to destroy her son’s life FOREVER on the theory of something bad to others.

First, you are overdramatizing.

Second, her primary motivation would be, I assume, to prevent him from harming himself.

1. this is about federalizing the prohibition of personal firearms.

2. this is about stopping cross state ccw recognition ala driver licenses.

Stupid media, Dynasty Warriors is not shockingly violent. It is also based off of the old Chinese novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms which in turn is based off of actual historical events during the Three Kingdoms Era in China.

Fanapt is a schizophrenia drug isn’t it? Was he diagnosed with that or is it used to treat other disorders as well?

I’m not interested in even beginning a discussion on this with our Left and this Administration until they provide some transparency on Fast & Furious, and that’s full transparency to the satisfaction of Darrell Issa.

Tell your Congressmen.

Make sure you see my post in #47 re: Fanapt. It appears that report was bogus, like so much of the early reporting. The MSM early reporting on this was a fecal exhibition.

LOL - that was my first thought as well. It wasn’t the legal weapons the mom had - it was the illegal windowless bedroom!

Re-reading Brave New World a short while back, found myself wondering why Huxley opens his book with young children being encouraged to play around sexually.

Then it hit me - it steals their souls.

This makes “Godless communism” easier to install in its place.

I had not heard anything about this so I did some quick research. Its amazing how this gets ZERO coverage in the US.

Here are a few links.

...his paranoid schizophrenia probably influenced his choice of target.

Let me suggest that Adam's choice of target was---though depraved---entirely logical.

(1) It was a "gun-free zone."
(2) It was close to his residence.
Its security system was minimal.
(3) The inner layout and classrooms commitment was familiar to him, from his childhood experience there.
(4) He had "cased the joint" the day before to verify adults by sight and location.
(5) The central victim population was young and defenseless.
(6) The regular schedule of class periods were predictive of timing of location of the students, teachers, and staff.

I heard about it the day of here on FR. However, the anti gun nuts would just reply “yes, but at least they all lived!”.

In sum, his mother knew her son was psychotic but was allowing him access to firearms.

As "needing" psychopharmeceutical treatment, he may well have been a person prohibited.

Thanks for the info that the report he was on Fanapt, a drug indicated for schizophrenia, was not reliable.

I still assume he was on a drug for his psychological problems, because that is so common today.
