He was President pro tempore of the Senate, which means he was third in the line of presidential succession. Does anyone know who becomes President pro tempore now?
He’s saying that it says that Politicians are spending their entire lives in elected office. Which is NOT what our founders intended.
When is Lousyberg going to drop dead?
The answer to my question is in the USA Today article. It’s Patrick Leahy!
Amen to that! No matter how ill or incompetent they are, most politicians are pretty much guaranteed to stay in office for life. What about that one senator from S. Dakota who had the stroke? Has he recovered, or are other people voting for him? And, of course, there was Sen. Byrd who was obviously too ill to perform his duties, but nothing was done to remove him from office. We dont have elected officials; we have royalty.
Being in jail is no impediment, assuming you're from Chicago and put a "D." after your name.
At some point in time you have voted for enough bad legislation....
What about Senators who died within the next term after not running again?
Arlen Specter was 82.
Jesse Helms was 87.

RIP Inouye.
RIP for an American war hero.
Can’t say I like his politics much, though.
Now, can Abercrombie appoint FLOTUS 0bama to be a senatrix?
Moving her out of the WH would be a win-win for everyone.
Senator Tim Johnson is still in the Senate despite a stroke. He is such a joke. Can barely speak and yet runs hearings. Out of duty to his nation, he should have stepped down. But, no. Vanity rules.
The Senate COUNTRY CLUB has become in part like a hospice of sorts too. Look how many senators choose to leave in the horizontal position? Term and age limits should be only 2 and no older than age 75. Time for the same or similar to be applied to SCOTUS.
He is likely to appoint Neil Abercrombie.
Is that legal?
At least Gabby Giffords chose to do the proper course and resign her seat. I give her alot of credit instead of just hanging around to cccupy a seat for the liberal agenda.
I totally agree..it was the first thing I thought of when I saw this..
Career politicians are the bane of our government.
I think it will be Ed Case.
Prolly not, but it is Hawaii, after all.
