Then why in hell didn’t she have her guns locked up where the kid could not get to them, knowing how unstable he was and has been for along time???
8:5 the little bastard was on or had been on RITALIN!
I may not agree with this woman’s politics or her take on gay marriage, but I sympathize wholeheartedly with the dilemma she faces and the terror she lives every day.
If you’ve never had a mentally ill family member, you simply can’t understand.
What this woman is saying is terrible truth.
We closed the asylums. We made the process of removing the dangerous from among us very very hard. They basically have to hurt someone and get the law involved before they are isolated from society.
Treatments are highly effective, but the mentally ill very often do not feel ill, and they won’t cooperate.
She has no where to turn.
Look at all the mass murders in recent years. How many times did friends and family know the perp was not “right,” yet our current system gives them virtually no tools to protect themselves and others.
I’ve read numerous suggestions that his mom should just have her son committed. Where? Who will take him? I can tell you she can get him admitted for evaluation and treatment, and it will last a few days at most, because he will either take meds that calm him down or, more likely, convince the shrinks that he’s OK.
Been there. Seen it firsthand.
Bless this poor woman, and so many other family members like her, and this sick society that wants to blame the victims rather than give them tools to protect us all.
He's out getting some other woman pregnant at this very moment.
Asylums are not politically correct, and the libs don’t care if political correctness kills us all! They’d rather blame it on lack of gun control.
This story is about a mother, who is not Adam Lanza’s mother, who has a hard time with her defiant kid.
From what she wrote, the father is somewhere nearby and mentally ill like the son.
Yes. It’s often genetic.
And she is dead on target that the elimination of treatment centers for mental health (aka "insane asylums") is the root cause of tragedies like the Newtown massacre -- not inanimate objects like guns.
The first problem is divorce and males being raised without any male influence in the household. Sometimes it works out okay, and other times it doesn’t, but it is never the ideal situation for young males. The next problem is a society that dodges the divorce dilemma by drugging young males in an attempt to control them. It is cheaper for schools to drug young males with prozac than it is for them to beef up security to avoid what just happened in Connecticut. And, of course, it is easier for politicians to demand gun control than it is for them to recognize the cultural nightmare that is going on. People need guns to defend themselves and their families from it.
This would never have happened if that school was in a “mental illness” free zone. It was a gun free zone but I guess that didn’t work. (sarcasm)
“Americans are under no obligation whatsoever to disarm.”
I was born with the God given right to be armed and no law can take that away.
This sort of reminds me of that scene from the M. Night Shyamalan movie “The Village” (2004):

The crazy kid Noah runs out of the house wearing the bogeyman costume, pursing the (blind) heroine Ivy Walker, who is on a quest to find medicine outside the village to heal Lucius, her sweetheart whom Noah has knifed. Noah has found under the floorboards of a house the bogeyman costume, which Village elders wear when patrolling the perimeter of their small community, to frighten and keep curious youngsters within the town limits. The bogeyman costume serves as a sort of weapon (arms). The Village was created by the elders who were fleeing (armed) violence in the outside world; all of them had at least one loved one who was the victim of violent crime.
“Which begs the question how do we fund them,”
The states were doing a good job of funding the state hospitals for the mentally ill until the federal judges turned almost everyone out on the street.

And it could be some WP writer with a blog making the whole thing up.
“The Anarchist Soccer Mom”
Sounds legit to me ;)
“Three step process to cure:
Exorcism
Castration (appears that the described case was based on heredity)
Lobotomy”
Actually when Christ cast out demons the person was made whole....And whether people believe it or not there is such a thing..But not the Exorcist type where you fight with the devil....They were cast out immediately....Not knowing who we are in Christ and the devil knowing that also is what brings about the Exorcist type of ritual......Remember when the disciples came to Christ and said they could not cast out the devils and He said “Oh ye of little faith, how long shall I suffer you?”.....The Presence of The Holy Ghost is required and Christ walked with no sin and the constant infilling of the Spirit of God, thus the power to immediately cast out demons and people were made whole immediately....Just my two cents worth......
A side note...My brother is into withchcraft and is completely demon controlled and I do not have any contact with him at all...He actually cut my black cat’s leg trying to shave hair for a ritual and tried to frame me saying it was a result of my shaving my cats.....I DO NOT SHAVE THE LEGS...I have video of the wound to protect myself and my vet asserted that wound could not have been made with shears if you tried......He used a sharp razor while carving wood on a model plane......When I called him out on his lies he refused to admit the deed and tried to have ME put into the nut house....Stay away from Spiritually sick people even if it is family........He’s an ARMED guard which makes me wonder about not reporting him which would result in him losing his job, which would result in him projecting his hate on me even more so, which makes me wonder if he would actually come after me.....
Read that. Excellent story.
Was this the one?
I dad died when I was 14. But I was lucky, while I did give my mother grief, I went to work for a blind man and his wife and did TV repair with him. I lived with them for about 3 years. They acted as my family and kept me on the straight and narrow.
Agreed. Society should support parents living this hell, but does not.
