We already know how evil guns are and all the rest of the no guns drill. Its time to let those who have lost loved ones grieve in piece for a while.
I agree with that.
Many, as soon as the news broke of the extensiveness of the atrocity, were jumping on their 'agenda' bandwagons and spreading their wares. Many of them were posting in various FR threads, too.
As with other similar shootings, we will hear the same rhetoric and condolescences for several days, and then we will move on.
I had a brief thought when I turned on the TV news this morning: Most of the major news outlets could just broadcast repeats of broadcasts of aftermath chatter from previous shootings.

One thing I realized early in this was that 'security measures' are not always secure. Per reports, the principal had just had security improvements installed in October. Well, we know now that those didn't work. Too many times, such measures only provide the 'aura' of security, rather than actual security. [Stepping off my soap box.]
The sad thing is that the true reasons for all these atrocities whether it be mass killings using a knife in China, mad bombers blowing up people, millions killed by cars every year, too many insane people on the street and not in hospitals getting the care that they need, will never be discussed today.
