President Barack Obama will travel to Newtown, Conn., on Sunday to meet with families of those killed in the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School and thank emergency workers who responded to the tragedy, the White House said Saturday.
"The President will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families" at 7 p.m., press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement.
On Friday, an emotional Obama vowed to "take meaningful action, regardless of the politics," to prevent future tragedies like the shooting massacre, which killed 26 people at the school, 20 of them children.

My 8 year old niece was very emotional and upset about the shooting. When Barack gave his speech, she remarked, “Why is he pretending to cry?”
THAT made me puke.
Oh, Great. Now all of their police officers, etc, will be wrapped up making way for the King, instead of concentrating on the needs of the families.
Will he do some more fake crying like on Friday?

He is making this a political event...well he won’t be on my TV...these families need family time to begin healing. he should spend the time with his own family...oh I forgot he is taking them on a three week vacation to Hawaii...but he will be golfing and sneaking a smoke, so the family will be neglected then also..what a loser..
These facts are known by the politicians.
These side effects have been acknowledged by the drug companies.
One begins to wonder if the fascists in our gov’t - who know the first step in taking over a country is the necessity of stripping citizens of their guns - didn't go to the drug companies and make a deal to develop these drugs - for this purpose. The fact that these gun-controllers, from the president on down, were loud and clear in demanding gun-control, using this tragedy for their agenda, while those little bodies were still in that school speaks volumes!
Yes, such evil exists. It operates on such high levels because decent people can't conceive of such raw evil.
We need to acknowledge it.
We need to let our politicians and media KNOW we know - and know THEY know - and demand they answer us individually.
BAN THESE DRUGS...and those that demand gun-control. They are even more dangerous.

I wonder why he is taking the chance? I saw plenty of people on TV walking around that town carrying firearms.
I was already pissed that Obama was going to Newtown with his motorcades, security, all the stuff that will clog up traffic and the town for hours .... making a mess when they’re trying to pull the pieces together. When I heard Whorealdo say “healer-in-chief”, I just about threw up. Mo’ Drama Obama is going to “milk” this evil for all it’s worth.
